I haven't really been watching the G1 (research), but I did catch Nakamura/Ibushi today and holy shyt, that was great.

Meltzer called Ishii/Shibata the pro wrestling equivalent of Frye/Takayama. Might have to catch that one too.

So I just watched Ishii/Shibata...

Ishii has ALREADY stolen the G1. Holy shyt, this is his now.

Now I feel like he's going to lose a heartbreaker in the finals. But damn, I'm on team Ishii right now.

Dude, they're main event wins. Those are good. The people that he's lost to were only Midcard and upper Mid card people.

So...Hiroyoshi Tenzan (Broken Ribs) and Hirooki Goto (Broken Jaw) are both out of the G1.

Basically a blessing in disguise for Tenzan, since he's been done for years as a singles guy and had been putting on some mediocre to bad performances in the tournament, but it sucks for Goto, who'd been doing really well in the tournament. All of those great performances for a broken jaw. Sucks to be him.
