If Kidani really wanted to "hurt" WWE he would be having low key talks with people like Cesaro and Sheamus and promising a lot of money and legit main event spots.

He's just promoting the US shows. He isn't going for blood or anything like that.

New Japan doesn't really have the bread to use WWE's strategy of 'throw money at talent to steal them from other companies' as a sustainable long-term plan. They're better off using the Western talent they have (Omega, Cody namely) to showcase their brand of wrestling Stateside and building the slow way.

After browsing TSC for nearly a year and I'm gonna give this stuff a shot.

An hour into Wrestle Kingdom 11 and I'm already impressed. :wow: That little snippet of Cody Rhodes promo was something else.
You were impressed with the FIRST hour.? :wow:

Damn breh, check in after the last three matches...you have no idea what youre in store for.

Lmao, Cody Rhodes has done such a great job of building up ROH, Evolve, PWG, GFW, etc. If people didn't care about him in WWE or anywhere else, they're suddenly going to care because he's on a NJ show?

Rhodes was just on NJ's WM, main evented basically the hottest British indie with Kurt Angle, and has the top selling shirt for the last month and last week on Pro Wrestling Tees. Clearly there is a level of intrigue around him.

Even if you personally don't think he's worthy of the push, NJ is going to need to create a top Westerner or two who the US market can relate to if they're serious about expanding. Plus...dude is only 31, has a good look, and has a legendary last name. IMO he's not a bad guy for them to bet on to be built into a legit draw.

Dawg, Cody got booked for all this shyt before he even had his first match on the indies. It's not a conicindiecne that no one has talked about his indie run that they were all excited about before it actually happened. Cody is CAW to the max, one of the most forgetable Americans NJ has right now on a card that also had Adam Page, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Cheeseburger.

No one cared about him after 10 years on WWE TV. Now he's suddenly a guy to build your American presence around as you expand? :stopitslime:

Cody and sandow are the model of exactly what not to do if youre tired of wwe. The hype regarding their exodus made no sense to me especially cody. Its like...first do you care about his in ring product...because if not guess what, he isnt a huge success in front of 17k or 90k wwe fans who are there for a SHOW, he definitely isnt gonna shine on the indies or japan in front of 200 or 29k who are there for the wrestling....

Cody is just a guy

I honestly think cody and ryback and sandow are going to be an example of what not to do when you leave wwe

Ryback has way more upside on the indies and Japan than Cody, imo. He's at least unique for his era and isn't going to try to have great work rate matches while he's actually painfully average and is discovering he doesn't know how to do any of the stuff he thought he did. Bring Ryback to Big Japan. But he really should have been the new Bullet Club member. Ryback and Omega seems like a pretty good pairing.

Breh, him selling a fukkload of t-shirts has nothing to do with how early he's been booked to appear in different promotions. And as far as saying no one cared about him on WWE, I fail to see how you can hold that against him considering you and I both know that WWE can and will de-push talent into the ground with stupid gimmicks and bad booking.

Cody is worth his weight to NJ if nothing else as a propaganda piece; him leaving WWE dissatisfied with being buried with a lame gimmick and doing jobber battle royales while going to a more serious promotion could be used to mirror the experience of the disgruntled WWE fans NJ is aiming for.

I'm not a Cody stan or even a particular fan of his, but it seems like you're allowing your personal distaste for him to color your perception of him being a potential stateside draw for NJ.

Ryback's not a bad idea either, admittedly. Thing is he's already 35.

NJ already has multiple "guys who got tired of being booked poorly in WWE, came to/back to NJ" guys that aren't doing shyt. Including Cody's opponent at WK. Cody is just another in a line of Gedo's hard on for shytty Americans. This dude is currently booking 50 year old Billy Gunn on his shows.
