Hmm...other than the title match, nothing here exactly looks essential. Maaaybe that IC Title match depending on whether motivated Shelton showed up. I'll try to catch it when it comes out on the nets, though.

Ricochet

It'll also be good to see how Trent does outside of WWE.

Not really liking the whole line-up like last years', but as long as Taguchi doesn't win again, I'll be fine with it.

* Tetsuya Naito appears after intermission and announces he will return at DOMINION 6.22 in June!

:salute:

* After Tanahashi defeated Anderson, Devitt and Fale ran in and attacked Tanahashi… Devitt motioned to Anderson who hesitated before he and Tama Tonga attacked Tanahashi. New army formation!

Weird that they'd turn Anderson right after he had such momentum last year, but I guess it makes sense. Both Anderson and Devitt lost against Tanahashi recently, and there's no way that Devitt can realistically make heavyweight with his frame. Thus, you turn Anderson. We'll see how it works. :manny:

* Makabe challenges Okada for a title match after the main event.

Nobody wants to see these matches.

I like the Anderson/Devitt pairing. Some really fun tag matches are gonna come out of that.

The Anderson thing makes sense. Had a breakout year, but lost every big match. This means they can cool both Anderson, and Tanahashi, off of big matches as they sort of ran the gauntlet last year and have no fresh matches left.

fukking Makabe :snoop: If Okada can keep up his momentum and have a great match with him then go ahead and crown him.

I really like Nakamura's title run. He's having good matches against midcarders, and kept strong by running through them. His return to the title scene is going to be huge.

Fun that both tag titles changed hands, kind of a shame that it happened in such sort matches.

Happy that Davey and Ibushi aren't in the BOSJ. It's been a great couple of years, but that needed some fresh faces, too.

1. I did consider that when thinking about the Anderson turn, I just feel that they wouldn't have done it if Devitt could make heavyweight. But it makes sense from a storyline perspective as well.

2. RE: Okada/Makabe. I reiterate: Nobody wants to see these matches.

3. Davey isn't coming back, so that doesn't surprise me. Ibushi's absence only slightly so. Based on the participants, who do you have winning the BOSJ? I have a sinking suspicion that Taguchi's taking two straight (to get the belt off Devitt), but I'm really hoping that doesn't come to pass.

Yeah, Taguchi. Hasn't held the singles belt in six years (...for good reason), seems like a logical place for him to earn the title shot and then go on to finally get it done.

No one else is really hot right now. The only other guys coming into this with any sort of momentum are the foreigners; Omega, Shelley, Kozlov, and Romero. If it's anyone other than Devitt or Taguchi, it'd have to be Omega. Former IWGP title challenger, tag champ, and AJPW jr champ. Between AJPW and DDT he was strapped up pretty much all 2012.

I've been meaning to get around to watching this for months, and I'm glad that I finally did.

I miss shoot-style so much. Josh Barnett was born like 10 years too early. He could've been fantastic working in UWFi.

Not sure if you like Battlarts style shoot stuff as well but Ishikawa threw together a pretty cool card this year, well worth checking out for anyone into that style, main event is Murakami & Hideki Suzuki vs Ishikawa & Super Tiger II

There was also a U Spirts show in March:

U-SPIRITS AGAIN 3/9/13 - A Video PlayList on Dailymotion

Slim pickings on the shoot syle front overall though, still waiting on the 2012 FUTEN :sadfed:

Although Kobashi contests his last match before the main event, the retirement ceremony took place after the second bout of the evening. Besides the usual flower bouquets and guests (including former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda) messages were from his former partners and counterparties Johnny Ace (John Laurinaitis WWE employees) and Stan Hansen. Mitsuo also momota, Masahiro Chono and Toshiaki Kawada adopted the "Iron Man" with greetings.

Fans loved the match. Akiyama and KENTA are crying. Post match celebration. Misawa Call prompted by Kobashi because he couldn't have a retirement match. Kobashi's wife and mother in the ring.

Show should be up pretty soon, this is going to be a tough watch :sadfed:

Currently working my way through Wrestling Dontaku and look at what I found:

tumblr_mmcptqVVt01qhjbxeo2_250.gif

AND THE GEAR IS ARMANI EXCHANGE!

This heel turn is already better than Jericho's entire 2012 run, and I haven't actually watched the match yet. :russ:
