I won't give this match the praise Meltzer is giving it (MOTY? nah), but it is an excellent match, nonetheless. This is all about "old man" Mochizuki's last stand for the title (at 45 years old he still can go) against a very insulting Shingo Takagi. Those final minutes are very intense (although they go at 500000 mph since the beginning)

That sepulchral silence when Takagi wins :damn:. Not even a collective "aaaahhhh" when the crowd fa vorite loses

I got to watch that Dragon Gate show. Heard it was very good

He said it reminded him of those Shibata vs. Ishii matches. If so, I'm in!
Cervical disc herniation recovery time is around 3 months. :mjcry:

But for an athlete like Ibushi it's probably gonna be less.
Is that with surgery or without? Because they said that he wasn't going to have surgery. The problem with that is that often times it just delays the inevitable, and thus wastes even more time.

The NJPW CEO was talking like Ibushi definitely won't be around in January.

Nakamura stans rejoice, he got in the WON HOF.

I think it's a laughable he got in at this point of his career but Dave's bias towards New Japan clearly played on part on readers voting for him :manny:

Much much too soon for Nakamura, I think the Observer HoF has some problems at this stage. Not only with the Dave influence (I know he's going to be delighted with Brock) but there doesn't seem to be much distance given to people, Nakamura has had a great few years but he's never overtaken Tanahashi and his very inconsistent years are given a pass.

Although saying that, Akiyama and Taue are still not in. If the ease of access to AJPW was around while they were going strong I don't think there's a doubt they'd be in, but now years later they're not. So... I don't know what's going on really. Jun has more classic matches than Nak, wouldn't be much less of a draw so I can't figure it. I can only assume ''right now'' is more important to a majority of voters. I think Okada would get in now easily, maybe even Ibushi. It is what it is, as Dave would say :dame:

Yup. It's pretty clear a big chunk of voters - specially outside of the "reporters" ballot - give very little thought into some, if not all, of their picks. So when filling a ballot they just go by what Dave has told them or what they've read on the WON or heard on his podcasts.

As you said, if Okada was eligible he'll surely get in on his first try :dead:

Taue and Akiyama not being in, and Fujiwara not even on the ballot is a disgrace. I have no fukking clue who the fukk votes in the Japan region but their criteria is all over the place.

The sad thing is that the Puro region is waaaaay better than the Lucha one. Villano III and Cien Caras still can't get in :dead:
