A couple of good recent non NJPW matches
Miyahara
NOAH fukked up letting him go, he's been having fire matches all year. You watch Miyahara vs Shiozaki?

Not fair though. Dave's NJ dikkriding is insane, and I didn't like the Makabe/Ishii match, but to compare a Cena/Cesaro match which is obviously going to be all about clean execution and cool spots versus a super stiff, violent Ishii/Makabe match that's going to be all about hitting the fukk out of each other, and giving Ishii/Makabe credit for it being sloppy actually heightening the spectacle, versus Cena/Cesaro trying to do cool shyt and outright botching and it hurting isn't straight up.
The example I'll use for this is Joe v Necro. They both a bunch of shyt in that, namely the exploder off the apron, but that shyt actually makes it all better because it becomes this ungodly, visceral thing you're cringing through, versus guys in a jr heavyweight spotfest blowing springboards.
If you can't see that you don't need to be critiquing wrestling, muchless critiquing peoples critiques :ehavb:

Love Miyahara too, always impresses me when I watch him. Haven't actually seen the Shozaki match though, have you got a date or event?
don't remember the exact date but it was from February or march. aoki vs kotaro Suzuki was on the same show and was just as good
That's in response to the video. Not sure I follow brother, who's not being fair, Dave or me? Is the bold about me or Dave As I say I don't really care too much what other people like in wrestling. Like I fukking HATE Dragon Gate but good luck to people who love it, they have a MOTYC every week
I couldn't really draw a comparison to the Necro match, like Makabe was throwing punches way over Ishii's head, that's just bad striking. It wouldn't make me think it's brutal or visceral, it just makes me think the shyt is fake. I got some enjoyment out of it just because I love Ishii but Makabe sucks in general. Dude couldn't even stand properly and break a fall Ishii/Shibata beat the fukk outta each other, Makabe here was beating the fukk outta the air more often than not.

Somewhat. Wins are worth 2 pts, 1 pt for a draw, and 0 for a loss. Most points in block A meets the most points in block B in the finalsThe G1 is like the NCAA tournament?
Just looked and i see Okada is in it, what does the winner get?Somewhat. Wins are worth 2 pts, 1 pt for a draw, and 0 for a loss. Most points in block A meets the most points in block B in the finals
Winner gets to challenge for the IWGP heavyweight title at Wrestle Kingdom, but I believe the winner also has to defend their title shot until thenJust looked and i see Okada is in it, what does the winner get?
What if Okada wins/loses. Does he drop the belt?Winner gets to challenge for the IWGP heavyweight title at Wrestle Kingdom, but I believe the winner also has to defend their title shot until then

the G1 Climax features the then-reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion as one of the participants, except in 1992, 2001, 2004 and 2008, when then-champions Riki Chōshū (in 1992), Kazuyuki Fujita (in 2001 and 2004), and Keiji Mutoh (in 2008), respectively, did not compete in the tournament. Often being labeled as a favorite to win the tournament, the IWGP Champion has reached the final five times, the first one being in 1995 when Keiji Mutoh won the tournament. Mutoh would repeat this feat again in 1999, but would lose the final to Manabu Nakanishi. Other then-reigning champions to reach the final include Kensuke Sasaki in 2000, Kazuyuki Fujita in 2005 and Yuji Nagata in 2007. Mutoh and Sasaki are the only two wrestlers to have won the G1 Climax while holding the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
