The amount of low-key and not-so-low-key b.s. that I have seen being thrown at John Boyega and his character since the initial casting announcement has been utterly astounding. Can't wait to see his excellent performance in the film, and of course all the whining from the usual fukkboys who'll complain about having to suffer his presence in the movie (but will watch it anyway, of course.) 
Oh, and btw-in the Asian marketing campaign (notably for South Korea and Japan) for this film, Boyega is conspicuously absent in all trailers/actor and creative team overseas visits/marketing material/etc.
This=Truth. Asian only want to see themselves or White people on the screen, no one else. It's why Hollywood is so touchy about pandering to them correctly (for maximum amount of profit potential). Sony execs were even questioning Denzel's overseas drawing power because of this.
