Since this is the goal, I support the effort to solve a problem. There's a reason why organ shortage is a problem in some countries while not in others

yeah, i support that effort too. but i do wonder why they need animal embryos though. growing organs out of stem cells, that's great. fukking terrific. i don't understand trying to make human replacement parts in other species. i don't get it scientifically, or ethically (if that's the long-term goal), for that matter.

yo i laughed so fukking hard at this. excellent gif execution. :russ:

I figured the route they went was less morally dubious.

You don't want this to be seen as harvesting humans which most certainly would occur with the use of human embryos/surrogates.

its simple

they dont mind slaughtering an animal created out of a test tube. They do mind slaughtering a person created out of a test tube :wow:

I'll assume it's because of the number of DNA signatures that mammals have in common, so they could skip a few steps along the way
Also the ability to grow mice population might be more efficient and reliable than harvesting stem cells

Expected the chinese on this
I would'nt doubt that they already are and are just keeping it on the DL to avoid scrutiny, considering a person who criticizes the Chinese government could end up in a "Reeducation through Hard Labor" camp and potentially never show up again.

ethics are a moot point, we use and kill animals for food and for whatever else we need.:yeshrug:

millions of people around the world suffer and die while waiting for an organ transplant. if scientists are able to grow human organs using animals that can be later transplanted into people in need, i'm all for it.

I just read an article the other day about a mother and father who refused to donate their kidneys to their dying child simply because the child is a girl. :francis:
