Yeah but the difference was Lemonade was not leaked like Anti was

That is the point we are making
Anti promo was kinda botched too tbh

Album had dope songs.. I liked “No Sleep”, “Daamn Baby”, “Broken Hearts Heal”, “Should’ve Known Better”, “Night”, “Dream Maker/Euphoria”, “Take Me Away”...etc.

I think Unbreakable and Discipline (underrated imo) may be the most pop-sounding albums in her discography.:jbhmm:
Discipline is the worst. I listened to it though. 20yo and Danita don’t exist in my world. Her most pop albums to me would be A4U and Janet.

Playing now.. definitely a top 3 Janet song for me.

This song and come back to me hold a special place in my heart. It actually reminds me of Lady in My Life

Jan is underrated as a singer imo. Them harmonies stay on fleek. :blessed:

She and MJs. I feel they both had a tendency of mixing their vocals into the music too much verses putting them out front. I’ll show examples later.

I disagree about Discipline being the “worst”. I actually thought it was dope and better than 20 Y.O. (Her worst album). It also had “Rock With U” which is a dope and underrated song itself...as well as the title track. But I’m a real appreciator of Janet’s discography as a whole.

And those albums are more “urban” sounding than Discipline and Unbreakable. Unless we’re listening to two totally different albums. LMAO. Sure both of the former consists of two of her most successful singles, but that doesn’t mean the corresponding albums were mostly pop.

“Lady In My Life” is one of my favorite MJ songs. I love how passionate and sexy his vocals were on there.

They both have amazing harmonies and great ears for music. People always think that having a large range and a powerful voice determines where someone can sing or not and I disagree. It’s all in the way you use your voice imo.

Damita Jo is my favorite Janet album from top to bottom post All For You. The Super Bowl fiasco kinda hindered it from getting the proper due it deserved. I dunno which album I prefer out of DJ and AFY.. AFY has higher highs, but DJ may be more consistent from top to bottom. Damn.

I have never listened to 20 yo or Damita. When I said they don’t exist, I really meant it lol.
So out of all the other albums I rank Discipline the lowest. It did have a few gems on it though. It just lacked the Janet feel I get when I listen to her earlier work.
Idk I don’t consider much of Janet’s music to sound urban outside of Control and Rhythmn Nation. It’s all rooted in r&b but it isn’t urban, imo

Having a large range isn’t everything(even though MJ had a wide range)? You have to know how to use your voice. Nina Simone has one of the best voices to me and her range is small. Her voice embodies everything a good singer is

Oh really... yeah, get on that when you can. Just to do it.

2017 sps.

Anti at 613k
Lemonade at < 347k

I won't be able to show you 2018's numbers yet as the year is still ongoing.

But just by continuously looking at chart positions...Anti is currently at 104 on the billboard 200 while Lemonade isn't charting. (It's been charting higher all year)
Lemonade still sold higher than anti with less access to streams due to it not being on Spotify or Apple

And how did this thread become about beyonce anyways:dahell:am I on LSA or something? Just the mention of her name gets nikkas hot and ready to argue

It may have sold more physical copies but people are not playing or requesting Bey’s shyt like that.

Bey hasn’t had a legitimate hit single in some years. I means...yearssssss.

That’s the point though. She didn’t need a hit or Spotify/Apple to go double plat.

This.

And really, it shouldn't even be an argument. Stats have already been posted that Lemonade sold more physical and with the streaming sales combined and nothing has been posted showing otherwise.

It wouldn't have gotten this far if the facts were accepted that singles are the only thing that Rihanna has over Beyonce.
