literally says Harden moved Westbrook out, also Westbrooks trade request came after he heard Harden wanted out. Harden did not want to play with him. Why would Rockets trade a guy who was All Team NBA for a man who has not played in 2 years coming off the worst injury? And that guy happens to be someone who Harden was working with all offseason:unimpressed:

"I heard it a number of days ago," said Brian Windhorst on The Lowe Post of Harden's interest in the Nets. "Guess who else heard it? Russell Westbrook. So I think Westbrook, who is kind of the forgotten man here, I think he goes in and is like 'You're not asking for a trade. I'm asking for a trade.'

"And so I think in the postmortem, it might have been Harden who moved first."

By all accounts, Harden has significantly more trade value than Westbrook as Houston has struggled to find much interest in the latter.

Given that russ and james are still cool i think both wanted out but james relented as the rockets promised to get Wall as a compromise.

With that said harden is a head case. Dudes obsessed with his image and scoring output and doesnt give a fukk bout nothing else.

However tillman frutista or whatever his name is possibly the brokest owner and is looking to off load all the extra costs so i can see why its a sinking ship

The league has to step in and fine/suspend Harden for blatantly breaking COVID-19 protocol right? Going to the strip club when it is out banned on the leagues list the day before you were supposed to show up to practice is fukked up.

Harden better watch or the attention is going to focus on him being the bad guy rather than the Rockets.

Yeah, that is a bad look. He should of showed up to camp and just said he wants to/is actively working with the team to facilitate a trade or just say that and don't go to training camp, but at least follow the leagues health and safety policies.

Just show up and ball out while waiting for a trade to materialize. Say just enough to appease the media, but not too much to become a story in the meantime.

A lot of his peers are probably looking at him sideways for his antics especially after KAT came out and said how many family members he has lost to COVID-19. I wouldn’t want someone like that on my team regardless of whether they help us win or not. Putting people’s families at risk.

Sources: Houston Rockets' James Harden open to being traded to Philadelphia 76ers, other contenders
TIM MACMAHON AND ADRIAN WOJNAROWSKI12:16 PM ET2 Minute Read

James Harden indicated to the Houston Rockets before the beginning of training camp that he would be open to a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers or possibly other contenders, sources told ESPN.

Harden, the perennial MVP candidate who is holding out of training camp, previously requested to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets to form a super team with former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

After it was clear there was no traction in talks with the Nets, Harden expressed to the Rockets that he would be agreeable if a trade with the 76ers materialized, sources said. Harden also indicated that there could be other teams that fit his criteria for a preferred destination, a source said.

The Rockets and the Sixers have had no substantive talks about a potential Harden deal, sources said. New Philadelphia president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, the Rockets' general manager the previous 13 seasons, has declared that he has no intention to break up the Sixers' All-Star duo of center Joel Embiid and guard/forward Ben Simmons.

Simmons, 24, a third-team All-NBA selection, is entering the first season of a five-year, $169.5 million contract extension. Embiid, 26, a two-time second-team All-NBA selection, has $94.7 million over three seasons remaining on his deal.

Teams would be reluctant to give up the assets required to get a player of Harden's caliber without confidence that he would be willing to remain with that franchise when he can opt out of his contract following the 2021-22 season. Few contending teams have the ability to furnish Houston with the combination of assets that it's seeking to consider dealing Harden.

Houston hasn't wavered in what the Rockets consider a fair asking price for Harden: a package that includes a young franchise cornerstone and a bundle of first-round picks and/or talented players on rookie contracts, sources said.

The Rockets have been adamant that they will not be rushed into trading Harden, regardless of how uncomfortable the situation has become with the three-time scoring champion failing to report to training camp while partying in Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Unless Harden is willing to sign long-term, Morey shouldn't entertain any offers from Houston.

He is signed for 2 more years and you will be able to offer the most money or get a sign and trade or even trade him before he becomes a FA if it doens't work out. If you think he's the missing piece for a chip, you go for it.

If he had 3-4 years on his deal I’d agree, but 2 is risky to give up assets without him signing a long term deal. You’d essentially be giving up a young cornerstone player plus young players/assets for a two year rental. You’d get less for him next year then you would right now seeing as he’d be an expiring. A sign and trade wouldn’t also let you back less in return than what you gave up to get him.

A similar example of this is what Houston gave up to get Westbrook/what they got in return for trading him to Washington. The one year just wasn’t worth what they gave up to get him.

2 years isn't enough. He gotta commit to 5 right now or no deal.
