I don't know, it seems like people fondly remember watching Kobe shoot 25 free throws in only 3 quarters vs Dallas. I'm sure that was somehow different though
It actually is Dallas in 2006 religiously had problems guarding 2 guards especially elite ones they had to foul them. There’s a reason why wade got all those free throws in the finals vs Dallas , Dallas couldn’t stay infront of him.

Having watched the Mavs a lot that year, I agree with that but unfortunately a lot of people like to pick and choose when those insane free throws numbers were ok. A lot of people who complain about Wade getting those free throws when he was attacking the basket relentlessly were ok with Kobe getting them playing much more of a jumpshooting game.

It makes sense though if he was shooting 60% vs the best defense the series before (Detroit Pistons, same Detroit that Kobe was struggling with two years prior in the finals) then certainly Dallas literally stood no chance at all you also seen it in 2011 finals wade was having his way with them, but we seen what Bron did and wade F’d up by waiting on Bron.

Nah, Dallas was legit on defense in 2011. Miami didn’t score 50 or more after halftime at any point that series. 49 second half points in game 1, 42 in game 2, 41 in game 3, 36 in game 4, 46 in game 5, and 44 in game 6. Nobody got open looks at all against them all series unless it was in transition. That performance against Detroit though. 60% from the field when teams on average shot 45% against them
