Yeah it doesn’t fit.

It means Batman knocked Talia up in year one or this Batman is at least 15 years ahead of this Superman Legacy iteration.
Realistically its only made sense if Bruce and Talia crossed paths during his worldwide training. Damian has to at least be preteen aged for it to work on screen. Squeezing in other Robins is another issue.

ultimately this stuff only becomes and issue if post 1st movie someone else comes in and screws up the vision.

No matter how wild something is if you are going to do multiple films you gotta let someone tell the complete story. The DCU pre Gunn issue was too many cooks in the kitchen + chasing Marvel

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Not sure how I feel about the batman situation. While it's nice to see Damian finally get a movie appearance, it really could be a little hard for a lot of the audience to wrap their heads around.

We still have to deal with "Is this movie part of the MCU?" confusion any time Sony puts out one of their Spider-Man adjacent movies. Having to digest not just two different Batmans, but two with different characterization (because Morrison's Batman is much different than the Batman Reeves seems to be establishing), but he also has a son. I almost feel like that's more of a second movie basis than a first movie.
To be fair, Reeves has a release date and the other Batman doesn't.. Reeves probably gets this part 2 and his shyt is a wrap.. Then this older batman (since his son is 10) comes out

nobody is confused by the Spider Man adjacent movies because nobody watches that shyt, and those characters aren't Spiderman lol. It's not a one to one comparison.

That's my point. People ARE confused. They spent the post credits scenes of three different movies basically playing hot potato with Venom and the Vulture, and people don't know what they're doing. And that's with Spider-Man being completely absent from the Sony movies. I can already see people acting real dumb about two very different versions of the same character being in rotation at the same time.

That's a possibility, but I'm going off the assumption that the second movie and the Penguin show are successes, and they at minimum have financial reasons to continue.

I’m still thinking Reeves does three movies.

Not sure how production schedules would be confusing when his sequel is already being written, has a release date, and we just learned about Brave and Bold an hour ago.

budgets are assigned on projections, they aren't going to just up the budget just cause lol. The fact they are keeping the Elseworld stuff is based on projections that show the ROI/Risk is worth it, the same way the stuff they bushed went through analysis deeming them unworthy of continuing.
What do they based the assignments on?

bro you can't compare Sony which is a separate entity trying to finesse money from the MCU wave the DCU situation.

You'd have a point if the Elseworld stuff was from say MGM or whatever and the main DCU was under Warner and the MGM property made reference in say Joker to the events of Justice League, that is not the case what so ever here.

Cool that he's interested, but in no way should he play him imo. Agreed that Static franchise can make a lot of money

I don’t think he’s a terrible actor :yeshrug:

I don’t think he’s a great actor either, but he won’t be playing him anyway (Gunn confirmed) they aren’t paying big money for actors in these roles

Yeah. That’s what I mean. To jump all the way to Damien puts a major amount of years in on Batman or they are bypassing Teen Titans as a property
