but if I understand the Elseworlds model they tend to be low budget which is why they yield great ROIs, and it exists outside so I don't see how 'internal' issues could occur.

The DCU Main Universe Batman is going to be the one that sells toys and stuff like that.

If this was two big budget batman properties they would have cut, but imo I think they are keeping the Elseworlds stuff because the ROI is too good.
Reeves' The Batman is now the Elseworld version since The Brave and Bold are in the DCU proper. The last movie had a budget between 150 - 200 million. I doubt that goes down, it will likely go up.

Batman sells on all fronts. That’s why he gets so many adaptations.

That Lego Batmobile is expensive

Pattinson’s Batman will probably won’t have to worry about making certain characters kid friendly though.

Lanterns: Greg Berlanti's long-in-the-works Green Lanterns TV series has been scrapped and the duo have parted ways with the longtime DC series steward. In its place will be a new take on the space cops with power rings. "Our vision for this is very much in the vein of True Detective," Safran described. "It's terrestrial-based." It will feature prominent Lantern heroes Hal Jordan and John Stewart and is one of the most important shows they have in development. "This plays a really big role in leading into the main story we are telling across film and TV."

Sounds like this will be very good

Not sure how I feel about the batman situation. While it's nice to see Damian finally get a movie appearance, it really could be a little hard for a lot of the audience to wrap their heads around.

We still have to deal with "Is this movie part of the MCU?" confusion any time Sony puts out one of their Spider-Man adjacent movies. Having to digest not just two different Batmans, but two with different characterization (because Morrison's Batman is much different than the Batman Reeves seems to be establishing), but he also has a son. I almost feel like that's more of a second movie basis than a first movie.

Reeves Batman was always the else world
OK that's fine but it was not made with a non blockbuster budget, that just isn't true. It had a big budget and based on the success of the first I doubt the budget will go down. Rather it will remain the same or go up.

Yeah it doesn’t fit.

It means Batman knocked Talia up in year one or this Batman is at least 15 years ahead of this Superman Legacy iteration.

nobody is confused by the Spider Man adjacent movies because nobody watches that shyt, and those characters aren't Spiderman lol. It's not a one to one comparison.

budgets are assigned on projections, they aren't going to just up the budget just cause lol. The fact they are keeping the Elseworld stuff is based on projections that show the ROI/Risk is worth it, the same way the stuff they bushed went through analysis deeming them unworthy of continuing.
