They’re defending him on the basis of believing he’s not a pedo but just a guy who wanted to make shock value jokes back in the day. I get that completely. And that’s who he was for a while; mr shock value. Make tasteless jokes about any and everything to gross people out. And I know that’s where most of his defenders are coming from. Not saying it’s right or wrong but that’s their position and they know the man so I’m not going to speak on what he did or didn’t do. But I will say shock value doesn’t hold up over time and you can get penalized for it.

I know that, but people need to draw a line to how far they should go to defending someone, Dude made dozens of "jokes" that were beyond tasteless. There comes a point where enough is enough.

I think that’s easier to do when it’s not your friend. Much easier to say that as a 3rd party on the outside looking in. Once it’s someone you love it becomes a lot trickier to do in practice. I’ve defended and stood by my friends when they’ve done foul shyt. Of course foul is relative but still. I’m not mad at anyone for sticking by their loved one or relative in a situation like this. not my place to tell them they’re right or wrong because they know the man and I don’t. Yeah there comes a point where enough is enough and apparently he got to that point himself. Even the whole thing about him tweeting about it 10K times is a lie. He deleted 10k tweets but not all of them were jokes on the same subject. So context is key there but you think most people on the internet in 2018 give a shyt about context? Of course not.

Also, most of the defenses of him I’ve read really stem from how this happened and the motivations behind it more than anything else. He got called to the carpet by a conspiracy theorist who engineered GamerGate and the pizza shyt with Hillary. He’s got no true issue with what Gunn’s tweets. He’s not appalled in the slightest. He just wanted Gunn to pay for coming at trump, so he used Disney’s past and its image against them and forced their hand because he knows the one they don’t want to be labeled as hypocrites nor do they want any bad press while going into a merger. He knew the game and played them like fiddles.

Again not defending dude at all; he fukked up and someone should’ve told him a long long time ago that just because you can say something doesn’t mean you should. He’s got that white boy entitlement thing where they feel like they’re bulletproof. Hopefully he’s learned his lesson now. But at the same time I’m not mad at anyone, especially his brother, having his back right now.

Oh no doubt. You and I are in 100% agreement on most of that homie. I’m just saying I get why a friend or fam member would have his back at least in public. I’m not confused by it at all. I’ve defended my friends when they do foul shyt but also called them out when they’ve crossed the line or veered close to crossing that line. And for all we know, someone did years ago which was another reason he cooled out. But like you said he said paying for being a dumbass
