Sorry, brother that just isn't true. If you were talking 30 or 40 years ago maybe. Now on the front end or the back end support for a business is dirt cheap. The ability to compete with massive companies has never been better. There is a cost but it pales in comparison to what the cost used to be. The only impediment to small businesses are these laws they keep on making to stump the growth of small businesses at least in America.
edit: I know this cause I have started bare bones companies that are under the umbrella that employs quite a few people.

Just read the comments on any article about diversity in tech on any tech site and you'll find the sentiments from this manifesto aren't uncommon amongst Silicon Valley employees

Gotta respectfully disagree breh, who says you got to compete at the highest level to start or even if that is the end goal. Don't have to be a billion dollar business 500k business is good enough. Now if you said not everyone isn't made to be an entrepreneur yeah that is an accurate statement. But now there is no better time to carve out a niche, create a unique user experience and give it a good. No better time to compete! The barrier is lower which means a higher success rate and a higher survivability rate.
Half way through this and it reads like an alt right newsletter.
After the firing the uber CEO starting to think that a majority of the white tech world thinks like this, always thought it was a liberal mecca of ideas.
