Latin America and the South Pacific are the two places where even if they secretly ain’t rocking with you, they treat you like royalty when you spending your money. I can’t wait to go back to Costa Rica, every spot we hit up went out of their way to make sure we were well accommodated. They knew our names, what we liked to drink, had things prepared for us when we arrived after excursions, etc…….and we didn’t ask for any of it.

This woman constantly came up on my fyp. even though what she's doing is cool I always thought something was off about her.

Whether she had some bad experiences with black Americans or not any customer facing business will have bad experiences across all demographics. She just let her preexisting bigotry against AA and need to get points from white people shine through

That’s something that goes both ways sometimes. I run a Black business and sometimes it feels like our own people are tryna do us a favor and go out of their way to ask for discounts or price matching with Amazon. Or they’ll come in there and tell you to your face they gon just go get it on Amazon. shyt is annoying as hell and makes you question what the point of it is. Especially when later on you’ll hear about a lack of Black owned businesses or spaces that cater to our people.

It’s almost to the point of disrespect where you’re made to feel like a charity. Knowing damn well they ain’t asking for none of this at a white owned business. But certainly if you have a business like this one where the owner is racially ignorant that needs to be a que for ALL Black people to freeze her business out not just Black Americans. As the poster above me said, you’ll get bad experiences across demographics so her singling out as she did points more to her ignorance and typically businesses fail under ignorant leadership.

Feel like when African and Caribbean immigrants compare their culture to ADOS....they're really comparing the best parts of THEIR OWN culture to American 'hood culture which isn't that different from white redneck culture (substance abuse, babies out of wedlock, violence, lack of educational opportunity etc).

You rarely hear immigrants speaking on any kind of ADOS culture outside the hood.

Do they not have access to "regular" Black Americans? Churgoing working class or middle class folks, upper middle class Jack N Jill etc? We assume they should know better but maybe not.

The black immigrants that come here need to go to HBCU’s as a requirement and take classes in black culture. Btw HBCU’s need to require all students to take a Black Empowerment class.
