Human beings are programmed to seek out patterns and learn from them, that’s a sign of intelligence, trauma means you are more sensitive to those triggers at all times. It’s the same with any one that has experienced trauma you see those signs everywhere even when it’s not specifically directed at you. That is the fact of the matter. Like I said before Jamaicans customer service is really bad to everyone but white ppl. You all make a joke about it all the time. Why is it different in reference to my example? As a Jamaican I will tell you that Jamaican customer service is NOTORIOUSLY TERRIBLE, it’s not just to African Americans, it’s to everyone including Jamaicans. They are only nice to white ppl because they see dollar signs in the service industry. They are rude to everyone.

I think because African Americans are so used to prejudice in their own country it’s very easy to assume that this interaction is personal to them, it really isn’t. I understand that when you are always on the look out for prejudice you will find it. It’s PTSD

This may all be true, but not in this circumstance. That woman has admitted that she hates African Americans, laughing it up while toadying up to a White woman when saying it. She also is an admitted swirler, which normally would not be a big deal to me until said swirler talks out the side of their mouth about my people.

So, we African Americans did not have to look for racism in this case. That Jamaican woman offered it up willingly in her attempt to find common ground with a White woman (A drug fiend one at that, lol). Essentially, your country mate is a proud c00n from a Black American perspective. Maybe Jamaicans see her differently, which by the responses of many of them on that twitter seems to be the case.
