As a Jamaican I will tell you that Jamaican customer service is NOTORIOUSLY TERRIBLE, it’s not just to African Americans, it’s to everyone including Jamaicans. They are only nice to white ppl because they see dollar signs in the service industry. They are rude to everyone.
I think because African Americans are so used to prejudice in their own country it’s very easy to assume that this interaction is personal to them, it really isn’t. I understand that when you are always on the look out for prejudice you will find it. It’s PTSD

Most Jamaican restaurants the chef is a man. Even Jamaican women would rather eat from a male chef.
