i love how similar carribean food is, yet unique in their own ways. u could tell me any of those dishes are dominican, jamaican or cuban and to the untrained eye its all the same. but once u taste it u can really taste the differences.

example puerto rican and dominican food is virtually the same, but puerto rican rice is a little more chewy and sticky and they add bacon or ham to their beans

haitian fried plantains are more scrumptious while dominican ones are more on the crispy side. that soup that ya eat on new years day is very similar to sancocho too, by looks anyways. i never tried it. the only difference is ya add the noodles and carrots from what i see in pics.

goat cuisine comes from the carribean fukk anybody else and their limited dishes

only jamaican food i ever ate, besides beef patties from a jamaican spot near my old hood, is oxtail and rice. this jamaican dude at a job i had when i was younger hooked me up because i didnt have any money for lunch and i felt blessed.
