I might be bias off the strength I'm Jamaican , but our food just the epitome of flavor . All my friends would always come over my crib to eat my mom's cooking , a majority of them confessed that my moms cooking were better than their parents , but heres some samples

Is that black rice?

And nikka did you just shyt on Kɔkɔɔ? The god ghanaian food?:why:
Yea the rice is made with black mushrooms that give it an amazing flavor. You boil mushrooms in the water and they turn it black

Idk where it comes from but my parents made it all the time as a kid and i could never get into it. I'm assuming that's what my parents always called sweet plantains. I would try and tell myself it was an acquired taste but i just didnt like the taste and would gag lol that's just me tho i know other people love it

I feel you. I feel the same way about liver

"Kɔkɔɔ" is the "twi" word for it (also means "red" in twi)

Twi = Ghanaian language of the Akan peoples.

We also just call it plantain like everywhere else

My dude you mean Saltfish as in salted codfish which is used in preparation of ackee and SALTfish.
Boil down the sawfish while cooking the ackee (with tomatoes and other vegatables) and then once the sawfish is cooked down throw it in with that ackee

shyt is on point

Eat it with some breadfruit and bammy
