"Do not bark up that tree, that tree will fall on you "

Is a subliminal to DMX ? :comeon:
Honestly :yeshrug:

Jay's got my favorite solo catalogue and might be my favorite emcee but you could tell me he threw a subliminal at ANYONE and I wouldn't argue it too hard.

Jay's the undisputed king of subliminal shots and covert disses.

As a Canibus Stan I have a problem with it.

I thought that back in those days with tracks like Rampage, you'll see, and I shot ya remix people take shots on the same track all the time.

Canibus was known to not just relentlessly murder everyone and have extremely long lyric heavy verses (there were many but I think the most notable example was beasts from the easts) but on some tracks he brags that he does just that. I understand why L felt threatened and why he wanted to compete...on the track.

The LL/Bis phonecall also shows them agreeing to do a track together and squash it. But that's clearly not what happened.

Bis should have felt lucky to be on the record. Nobody in the larger public would have even known LL was dissing Bis. He came out dissing a legend for his single.

EVERYBODY knew LL was dissing him him when they first heard L's verse. He came out aggressively talking about the shorty who only talks about battling. It was so obvious, but no one knew why. All of the talk was "Yo, he going at Canibus" the original mixtape released version had Canibus, but no one knew about the Meth/Gods, Reggie/Squad, LL/mic line." This was a case of being the public knowing long before the story came out.

Jada said they arrived at the studio shortly after..."
