I wouldn't argue with anyone that thinks this way but I don't think even Jay at his peak was better than Big. And that's no knock on Jay but Big was just that great

Why on earth would you compare BIG to a nikka who never won shyt and a guy who didn’t get out of the first round?
BIG was a proven commodity with enough accolades to warrant the question did a nikka who was around for 30 years surpass his 3 years

But for ME, Jay’s bars had more depth while they were alive. And that gap only widen as jay grew. Big didn’t get a chance to live long enough to make a You Must Love Me, daddy where you been, Soon you’ll understand, song cry, momma loves me, etc. He may have 1 or 2, but he didnt have the opportunity to grow on you and make those a staple. Jay did. And those types of songs separate jay from big
