I’ve said it before, the only challengers to MJs throne were The Beatles, Elvis and on contemporary level Prince and Madonna.

He brought the Beatles catalog and forced Paul McCartney to beg for more money when he had tax issues. He married Elvis daughter. He embarrassed Prince on stage with James Brown and Prince hated his sister for working with the Time during a period where he couldn’t buy a hit (post SOTT), took Madonna out and ghosted her.
You talm bout Jerome working with Janet on that award show?

I think he was a dancer...

Oh and Jimmy Jam and Terry?

Im still waiting on a proper Stevie Wonder documentary. Not a “biopic”, but an actual in depth look at him

Motown vaults got so much shyt just sitting there collecting dust. I think the only problem with a Stevie doc is that he has it in his contract that he controls whatever is in the vaults including videos

Remember when the media tried to convince us mj was broke:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:
He was somehow broke, that's why he end up agreeing to that 'This is it' Tour and having more and more dates added, which led him to work like crazy. MJ had debt, a lof of debt. I'm sure it was debt people put him into. Anyway, he had debt he had to pay. He did not have liquidity but he had MAD assets. So he was broke but still rich.

They tried to have him sell his assets to pay off his debt, he refused. :wow:

His plan was to pay off his debt with his tour/ London O2 concerts and keep his assets.

That’s one knock against Motown for me. A lot of their bigger artists had to either leave or go on their own to really put out their best music.

Stevie had to have it written in his contract he has full creative control or he was bouncing. Jacksons bounced. They didn’t want Marvin Gaye to go the route he went. Didn’t let the Temptations record “War” and wanted Smokey to be their EXCLUSIVE song writer.

Maybe they figured that out at some point because they let Rick James do whatever he want.

late pass

David Ruffin and Blue was supposed to sing War?? :mjcry:

He was rich people broke. He was spending way more than he was bringing in. He stopped touring and Sony fukked him over with the Invincible project plus they put him on trial so he didn’t even tour off of that. He also didn’t want to live in Neverland because they raided it and stayed there for days tearing it apart so it fukked with his peace of mind. The This is it tour was going to put some much needed cash in his pocket so he could plot his next moves. He could have easily sold off the Beatles catalog and got back on his feet but he was going to hold on to that

Song was originally written specifically for the Temptations, Gordy refused to allow them to release it, saying it would alienate their white fans. Song was then handed to Edwin Star, the rest is history.

He said he would never live at Neverland. As far as the other stuff there was an entire trial that included testimony from his family. Look it up bozo

I’ve read that Paul McCartney let MJ in on a secret that an auction for the Beatles catalog is going down and was planning to purchase it but got outbid by MJ. He didn’t know MJ was going to do that. Apparently Paul was super pissed.

MJ like
