I never claimed he was broke.

I’ve said it before, the only challengers to MJs throne were The Beatles, Elvis and on contemporary level Prince and Madonna.

He brought the Beatles catalog and forced Paul McCartney to beg for more money when he had tax issues. He married Elvis daughter. He embarrassed Prince on stage with James Brown and Prince hated his sister for working with the Time during a period where he couldn’t buy a hit (post SOTT), took Madonna out and ghosted her.

Maybe it’s just because this was before my time but I don’t think Madonna belongs in the conversation with those other people at all. She’s been completely irrelevant for my entire life and I never hear any of her songs on the radio or anything like those other artists. I can’t even name any Madonna songs besides Material Girl
