It's not even about the money at the time. It's about a complete lack of foresight. It's not like Ja was some revolutionary when it came to rappers crossing over to movies. He'd seen how valuable it was with artists like Will Smith becoming bigger than they'd ever been by making that transition. The Fast and the Furious was a box office success. Someone with any sort of business sense doesn't throw that opportunity in the bushes. And Luda's not popping like that anymore and they've stayed loyal to his character. Ja could be where Luda is right now instead of making straight to DVD shyt
People say Ja was huge at the time, but wasn't Luda too? And now look who's on top?
umpteen years later, ja is still with wifey, his kid is in the university, while luda just went thru some stressful baby mama drama and he may he wifed up a gold digger that put medical school on hold.
life decisions lead down different roads in the future.
Yeah but Ja also did a bid, his record company folded and he's doing straight to dvd flicks or limited release flicks. I guess personally Luda would trade places but professionally he wouldn't
Id bet Luda in particular made more from this franchise than anything he's done. Music included. And Tyrese too. He's been in a lot of movies, but the majority of em were box office duds. Id guess they both make 8 figs for these flicks. At least a high 7figs.
But Furious came before Transformers. You guys know that Tyrese made a fortune from Transformers right? He cashed out twice with Transformers and Fast & Furious. Tyrese living a real blessed life.
Tyrese been in a lot of movies? shyt, outside of Baby Boy, I can't really think of other shyt he was in, except for one other franchise that was just as much, if not more popularity/money-making than Fast & Furious, in Transformers movies, which obviously weren't box-office duds.
