:ehhh: they are playing it too safe.. Picking the star trek director to do star wars :beli:
They need to take a risk like marvel did with Avengers

Marvel took a risk? Whedon is probably the most praised dude in fantasy/sci-fi. They took the same "riisk" Paramount took in getting Abrams for Star Trek in the first place, which is not one at all.

The basis for Star Wars is solid, fundamental storyteling. For that reason Affleck would've been a good look, too.

Abrams has proven himself sci-fi wise. The new Star Trek was one of my favorite movies, it was so well done. The 15 minute 3D preview of the new Star Trek looked fukking INSANE. I literally jumped when a spear came flying through the screen.

Abrams was the right choice. He understands the era and was clearly the next best choice if Steven Spielberg said no. I know Star Trek fans are going to be mad but the fact is if you look at all the Star Trek movies, the most a director has done is two films. It took 4 years to get this new sequel out. He's proven himself and is the right choice. LOL @ Affleck, he just doesn't embody Sci-Fi, even as an actor.

It was going to be Abrams or Joe Johnston cause of their strong ties to Lucas and Spielberg but Joe is doing Jurassic Park 4 so Abrams got the Star Wars job. If you look at the new Star Trek movies, clearly they had a Star Wars flavor about them cause that was Abrams 1st love. This is great news, as an OG Star Wars fan he was my #1 choice if Steven couldn't do it.

Such a boring, predictable choice.

Light saber fights with camera flare.....how exiting :shaq2:

Never really been interested in anything Abrams has been a part of. I just hope he doesn't try to make it hip and have moments that wink at the camera like he did with Star Trek (which I thought was decent).

By his quotes it seems like he respects the OG material a lot so should be interesting.

This is has the potential to be good. JJ did a damn good job with that last Star Trek and the new one looks crazy. They picked the right person...As long as Lucas doesn't have shyt to do with it, its going to be good....Jar Jar fukking Binks...:pacspit::pacspit::pacspit:
