now from a beat makers perspective i know why people like dilla, them beat tapes are a good blueprint, even though Dilla's beats can be abit boring.

I disagree because while we can debate the album thing, it's hard to deny his sound became the back bone of large segments of hip hop. And jazz. And r&b.

It's not just the albums. There's other producers who created a sound for others ir a sound in general or were made songs that were integral in the careers of artists that are considered GOATs. With Dre, I don't really have to list the artists. It goes without saying. RZA's the same. DJ Premier is the same.

And the thing with Dilla is that the arguments for why Dilla is GOAT is used against say a Timbaland. He is the backbone for a lot of Hip Hop, R&B, but Pop and other genres as well. But if someone used that to prop him in a Hip Hop discussion, it wouldn't fly. He would be hit with the "he's more of an R&B producer" tag.

Those posts don't support an argument of him being underrated. Underrated is Traxter or T Mix. Those are producers we don't see mentioned or rated at all.
