He can definitely rap and make good music but I agree I just think the content doesn't stick with me or something.

How many times is he going to tell me he never sold crack lol
Most of the production on here boring too. I love boom bap but we don’t need more boom bap from Cole. Needs more outside production. Boom bap drum patterns from Cole in 2021 sound like his old shyt.

The boom Bap shyt the only good beats on here. The modern production and flows on here is :unimpressed:

This is kind of trash. I’m all for conscious, positive rap or rap that isn’t steeped in the degenerate gamgsterism that’s so pervades the current scene (Little Brother, Cudi, Common, and even Ye in his prime). I just think Cole is corny.

Thing about the Pitchfork review, was that it's pretty on point.

All of the issues that people have said they have with either Cole or the album, were the same things said in the review. It's damn near word for word with what a lot of people have said on here and offline, lol. The dude that wrote the review is the biggest Jay Electronica fan around, and other MC's too, So he's always seemed pretty impartial and loves underground shyt. Reviews are whatever, but most of them are saying the same about the album's misses. Some people love the album, but a lot of people think it's just okay. 3 stars and 6's kinda say that it falls somewhere in the middle.

And as much as I root for Cole, and think he's dope at times, he's kinda that level of an MC. He lands somewhere in the middle. He has some of the tools to make classic shyt, but he's not on the level of a Kendrick yet. This is definitely his best album lyrically, but I can't give it the nod over FHD...yet.

Cole can rap but he’s missing something. In my opinion he isn’t as fluid over Beats. His voice isn’t an instrument, if ya know what I mean. He’s a good rapper but I don’t consider him a top tier emcee...

He’d be like Mic Geranimo in the 90s. His timing helped him become an A list celebrity and him understood it’s better to have a cult following than to chase hits.

He’s got more than a “cult” following with FIVE platinum albums…
