If you listen to the story Cole hit Jay up once he was off the henny, he said "when you were making Reasonable Doubt was anyone pressing you for a hit? So why you pressing me?" and he asked Jay "Where's the vision" because Jay forced him in a studio session with Stargate.

Sounds like a miserable time for Cole though, really shows how trying to force a hit can fukk with an artists whole creativity.

Really bad record
What’s crazy is the one song that was a bop off FNL came off effortless yet he was struggling to come with a hit.

I never understood how he was able to come with the different variables and conflictions on this with reliability that most people feel when they get some bread yet Workout and Who Dat was so forced.

Tbf that song wasn’t single material either.

We talking debut first single shyt, song that will bring the masses to you. He needed a workout. He could have easy been a big krit if he didn’t pull it off.

That’s crazy, because J Cole actually said in the podcast that when Jay Z told him he need help to make a song with the best writers and producers, he told Jay with watery eyes,”Nah, no I don’t”.

Jay Z telling Drake in front of Future (Drake’s Manager), E, and J Cole, “Give the boy one.”, is mad disrespectful. That “boy” hits so heavy and ugly.

I’m glad Cole stood up against Jay for him to understand from his point of view.
