Or you could be sensible and say that calories are a unit of measure but overall health is better achieved on the following principles……..
I am being sensible. 70% of the US population is either overweight or obese. That number has been consistently climbing over decades. It's time to stop talking about calories and start talking about what people are actually eating.

If they eat a diet of primarily real whole foods they don't even have to worry about calories because it will be too difficult to overeat on them and have that come into play. If you tell people calories in calories out and a calorie is a calorie they will continue to take that as a license to eat whatever bullshyt they want and instead of focusing on quality foods they'll employ short term tactics that lead to short term weight loss and weight rebounds.

Calories in, calories out.

Bread or no bread makes no difference.
The food you eat matters. Some of those foods contain ingredients and chemical compounds that wreak havoc on the human body. Emulsifiers exist much of modern bread contains them.

You can continue to try to dumb this down to just numbers but that approach has failed for decades now. If people focused on eating better foods the calories would work themselves out. When people focus on calories hey continue to eat garbage and end up backsliding back onto old habits and regain weight.

Been eating 1 sandwich a week with Keto bread from Aldi. It has no added sugar in it so it's at least somewhat decent.

I don't get why it's so hard to understand that the concept of a calorie that exist in the public conscious is deception by the food industry. A calorie as a unit of measure itself isn't false but you can look people in the eye and deceive them using the truth. In fact the best lies are built using the truth. This is because the truth is undisputable. It's absolute. You even see it here. I say the a calorie is a lie and by that I mean the concept of a calorie and people are so into the calorie as a unit of measure they miss the point of my statement even though they know there's validity to what I'm saying.
I dont even know what you're trying to say.

Protein will always be 4 calories
Carbs will always be 4 calories
Fats will always be 9 calories.

A good diet will include all 3. I just dropped down to ~12% bodyfat by tracking calories and making sure my macronutrients fit my lifestyle needs. You're talking about calories are a lie because people are fat even though they're aware of a unit of measure, When in reality most of the populous have 0 clue how many calories they should eat in a day or how how many calories they actually eat in a day. People easily knock out 1500 calories in a single meal during lunch at work and wonder why they can't lose weight.

Nothing here changes the laws of thermodynamics.

Sure, macros and nutrition matter.
But acting like someone can't meet their fitness goals while eating bread is flat out wrong.

All sorts of bodybuilders and general fitness people consume a variety of whole grains and bread is one of them.

Dumbing this down to just numbers hasn't failed ever. It's literally proven math.
Consistency and tracking are far, FAR bigger reasons for why any approach fails than eating or not eating a specific food.

My guy, u are confusing healthy eating (which i condone) from fat loss. U can still eat like shyt and lose fat. Sure, it aint the best way for your body to have but it still works. On the flip side, U can eat healthy and still gain weight as well(theres healthty foods that are calorie densed like nuts and seeds). Thats why counting calories matter.

I'm trying to say that this idea that what really matters is how many calories you eat in a day is a distraction by a food industry that makes poor food that is ultra processed and calorically dense and overall unhealthy.

I'm trying to say that if people focus on eating high quality natural real food and not ultra processed food that counting calories won't really come into play because they won't be able to pack on enough calories to gain massive amounts of weight and cause health problems.

Humans existed and managed before they knew what a calorie even was. They ate real foods and their bodies let them know when they had enough because their bodies could properly process and digest the food. Or maybe you're suggesting that before humans knew what a calorie was the entire world was obese because nobody could self regulate? It actually seems to be the opposite. As more time goes on more and more become obese.

This whole post is just :mjlol:

U can eat healthy whole foods and still get fat...if u go over your calroies.

People back in the past were more active then people today. In other words, they burned more calories. From hunter gathers where u had to actual go out and hunt your food, to pre auto mobile days where folks would migrate on foot for hundreds of miles.

You really are gonna die on this hill arent you :heh:

Can you give examples of people who ate proper whole food diets with fruits, vegetables, meats, and no notable ultra processed food that got obese or even overweight for a notable amount of time. Pick any fat or obese person off the street and you’ll find the majority of their diet is ultra processed foods and or sugary drinks.

Can we get examples of people that mostly avoided any ultra processed food and came down with dietary induced type 2 diabetes?

Theoretically you could eat 4000 calories of broccoli a day but in reality you not even gonna get a half into that before your body signals you to quit eating for a while.

You just arguing with me to be combative because both you and I know it’s tough to overeat on calories when you’re on a real whole food diet with no ultra processed food.

Can you give an example of someone that ate ultra processed foods at their maintenance calorie level and became obese?
