So are you saying eating 1000 calories of apples and eating 1000 calories of pop tarts cause the same reaction in your body? All food may have calories but calories are a deception to the masses so they can equate all food to being equal on some level and say calories in vs calories out.

In reality whole real foods the body knows how to handle are different than ultra processed foods. When you dumb it down to just calories it ignores that. It’s like Coca-Cola saying drink all the soda you want and just exercise more.

Calories ignore food quality and that’s why they’re a lie.
That doesn’t make calories a lie. A gallon of gas is gallon of gas. The difference between regular gas and premium is another matter.

Yes a calorie is a unit of measure but as it's used it's a lie. They arbitrarily create a serving to say what they see fit and you can't even measure them on an accurate level on your own because what's printed on the package is an estimate. It could be 20% off. Preparing the food a certain way could make it off also. You need a food scale on you and even then could still be off. The other day I picked up a bag of chips at the store and looked at the package. A serving size is 9 chips. Who eats just 9 chips? I guarantee you if you ate 9 chips vs eating 9 apples you not making it through 9 entire apples before you're done.

I stopped counting calories or even really paying much attention to them. I eat when I'm hungry and try to stick to real whole quality foods 80% of the time. I feel like at a deep level my body knows what it needs if I listen to it. If I'm reasonable about what I'm eating and eating quality foods I'll be fine.

Modern bread with ultra processing and gluten as well as all the pesticides they use on it is not a quality food. Might as well just eat a bag of sugar because that's what it turns into inside you anyway.

I stopped bread a month ago and the last loaf I bought still looks exactly the same as the day I bought it. That isn't natural.

No I shouldn’t have. People online love to strip the content out of everything. The context is it’s an almost worthless unit of measure. You say a gallon of gas well you can measure to the ounce how much gas you get. That’s a useful unit of measure.

Can you measure any food and add a single calorie to the count? You are entirely dependent on what the maker of the food dictates a serving is. Even then not accurate. A calorie is something a scientist observed that the food industry grabbed hold of to serve its own purpose.

Make up your mind. One minute it’s a lie and the next it’s not.

You admitted it’s a unit of measurement. The additional context doesn’t change science.

enjoy your carb less existence

The general concept of these are still the same. The only thing is that 1000 calories of bad food won’t fill you up as much as 1000 calories of healthy food. But 1000 calories is 1000 calories.

If I compare 2000 calories of Coke to 2000 calories of broccoli and one will probably feel me up for most of the day and the other won't even keep me full for 30 minutes what real meaning is there in equating calories to calories when the foods themselves aren't equal? That's not actionable information. It's almost worthless in that respect.

All calories aren't equal so boiling them down to just a number is telling a half truth. Half truths are attempts to deceive hence I call calories a lie. I don't mean that calories aren't real I mean the concept of calories as they're given to people is propaganda from a food industry that is making food that is clearly damaging society. It's something they can point their finger at and say see it's not our fault even as we make this food that pushes disease and obesity to the masses if they'd just keep eating our junk and count calories they'd be fine.

If every day you ate 2500-3000 calories of just potato chips and chocolate chip cookies hey a calorie is a calorie eight as long as the math works that's not going to impact your health right? That food is going to cause reactions in your body calories don't account for. It's going to spike your blood glucose levels for one thing. When you say 1000 calories is 1000 calories you're just helping spread that industry's propaganda because no its not in any real meaningful way to people and how what they eat impacts their lives.

Coke is a beverage and broccoli is a vegetable, so comparing them like that is disingenuous since nobody's going to get a fukking Big Gulp by itself for lunch. :stopitslime:

Food companies aren't out to deceive anyone by coming up with portion sizes or posting calorie counts, folks eat what they eat because it tastes good and they don't exercise enough because they're lazy and putting in work at the gym is not easy.

If you think bread is bad, that's fine, don't eat it, but to call it toxic with no actual proof or to say calories are meaningless is 🧢 . They're not. Eating just broccoli all day isn't gonna be any better for your long-term health than eating cookies and chips only, there's a reason a "well-balanced diet" is a thing. :mjlol: Bread can be part of that balance, but you don't seem to get that. Just say you have an eating disorder and keep it moving.

In any case, Imma leave this thread since you sound like a quack; you've provided no receipts for anything you said ITT.

Imma go put this pie in the oven and enjoy some yeast rolls while it cooks up. You be safe out there Oh Pee, and be sure to report any wild gluten to the proper authorities.

All bread isn't bad. Ezekiel bread is fine. Much of the bread at the supermarket is bad. Most bread served at restaurants and fast food places is bad. If your bread isn't going bad fairly quickly it's bad.

It's funny that I said calories aren't equal and I'm a wrong quack but a Coke has calories just like a vegetable. Suddenly all the numbers aren't so equal after all huh? Ultra processed food is just as different to whole foods as Coke is to broccoli. UPF aren't designed to fill you up and are calorically dense just like Coke is. Both are products sold to the masses to addict them and get them to eat / purchase more and more.

A unit of energy is a lie but food is about hormones and instructions it gives your body? You got it breh (read: no do fukking don't. :mjlol: ). :hubie:
Pretend food has nothing to do with hormone regulation :russ:. I’m not going back and forth with you, we’ve done this already.

Why waste your time trying to convince people who know everything that they don’t? They not spoon feeding you, you don’t have to eat the BS they feed themselves.

I'm trying to do what I can to get people to question this stuff. This is the same industry that fed people trans fats like it was nothing till the government stepped in and half way banned them and even now they feed people trans fats cause the government let's them round down to zero if they have a serving size that reduces the number a certain way.

These companies don't give a fukk about us or our health. They creating the most focus tested addictive foods chemically engineered to reach the bliss point your health be damn.

This is not new territory.

Why not just make thread on the subject instead of complaining about not being able to eat bread that you are very adamant is bad for you.

What's worse for you guys in America is that your bread is quite sweet and that's on purpose to keep you wildly addicted to it. Not so sweet in Europe, so yes it's a carb but it isn't loaded with sugar or whatever sweetener they toss in it over there
