Holly Holm was a pretty good boxer. Nobody was talking about top 10, though. You're a boxing fan, right? If so, you know that footwork is everything in boxing. You should also be able to clearly see that boxing footwork/stance does not work in MMA because of the added elements of wrestling and kicking. Like I said, MMA is still a young sport that's constantly evolving, and eventually every discipline that it's composed of will be modified to be MMA specific. There will be MMA specific striking, wrestling, and footwork. Twenty years from now Anderson Silva, GSP, Fedor, and even Jon Jones will look as clueless and outdated as Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie look now. We're in the stone age - it's unpredictable because it's unrefined.

Holm is a woman, I was clearly talking about men. There's more money in boxing for men, if someone that could be a top 10 boxer makes the jump to the UFC it will be because one of two reasons -

1. They love MMA
2. They no longer can compete in boxing.

This is kind of where Stephen Thompson is at, master at karate/kickboxing, and now he's added takedown defense to his game and he looks like he will be the next welterweight champ. His standup is on another level from most other UFC fighters.

The Rory fight didn't show that...He is just a stick and move type guy, NOTHING special...

The few punches Rory connected made him look shaky...I think he will beat Lawler (by stick and move points), but I don't think he can beat a tough grinder who fights in the clinch...
