It's time to admit Game of Thrones has surpassed Breaking Bad, The Wire and The Sopranos

Im explaining why i feel that way about my opinion. Ive clearly stated that the acting on GoT is so good thats its the only tv show that choked me up several times with different characters due to the connections the show makes between its characters and the audience....

If The Wire season 2 and 5 were better, I could see this being closer. As of right now, going into the last 2 seasons this show has passed it as the GOAT.

At worst, it'll tie. But if it ends strong, it's not even debatable to me.

Better than Breaking Bad for sure - that got put in sharp relief when I went for a rewatch. Once you know all the twists and turns of the plot, it's just not the same draw.

I can rewatch The Wire and Sopranos at will and probably will for the rest of my life.

GoT is approaching those levels; the rewatch factor is massive. There are reasons I enjoy it more than both (swordplay and medieval battles >>>>> ) but there are also many reasons why The Wire will likely never be surpassed by anything on television.

Dexter ... poor Dexter. And I say that not skipping an episode through binging seasons 1 - 6. Then 7 happened, and I had to let it go. I didn't bother with 8.

Add in Rome to that list.

Nobody loves Deadwood or Carnivale around here? HBO should have paid whatever money it took for another season of Deadwood. Greatness cut short.

Easily really? What's like his biggest role ever? These dudes are leading men in multiple movies, award winners etc. Bean is not,. If you enjoy him as much as them fine but I think that's a minority opinion.

I'm a Game Of Thrones fan but besides season 1, all other seasons were inconsistent....especially during the middle of the season, most seasons were saved by 1 INCREDIBLE episode towards end of the season.

Also it's best moments on the show rely on shock value....while shows like The Wire & Sopranos rely on plot much more.

GOT is great but it'll never have the reply value like the Wire & Sopranos, GOT best moments won't hit you hard the second time as the first time you watched it.

The Wire is the forever GOAT & nothing will ever top it.

I'd say with this season, GoT has earned BB/Wire status, but not passed them. It needs to close out its last two seasons really strong to make up for that season 5 dud.
