It's time to admit Game of Thrones has surpassed Breaking Bad, The Wire and The Sopranos

Can't rank it fairly until they nail the landing.

I love GOT.. this last season was fire all the way through... but imo they really get the super edge because of their enormous budget. Each episode is damn near a mini movie which is great but I think they over rely on it and drag out certain storylines that should move faster. Just think if Breaking Bad got to lock down an entire city block and have a few explosions, helicopter hijinks, car chases, etc. at least every other episode

You know the show is good nowadays because of the high budget spectacles and a bloody murder promised every episode but really the story is nowhere near Sopranos/Wire/BB. Shyt is dumbed down in comparison, it had a chance but they decided to play for oohs and ahh. I guess it is what you are into, The Wire in particular was a great story, with better acting and a real social commentary. This isn't in it's league IMO. Sopranos/BB way better writing/acting as well.

This nikka said GoT story isnt on par with them other shows :mjlol:

nikka the storyline is what makes it the GOAT.

The fukk was so good about sopranos storyline? That shyt had mad fillers and u really didn't connect with the characters as much as GoT

:ehh:

To each his/her own on that...... The Wire/Sopranos came out in a totally different era than GOT...... so a lot of young people aren't gonna get how well done those shows really are....

Prior to GoT my list was Breaking Bad and then Sopranos. After the first 3 season GoT got that nod to #1 based off of storyline alone. Nevermind the superior acting and setting. I can rewatch GoT over and over again and never get tires of it. I still get chills and tighten up seeing Ned Stark get beheaded.

Tried to rewatch sopranos and i couldnt even get past the 5th episode without feeling meh about it. Didnt care to rewatch Breaking Bad tbh because to me that was a week to week basis show with little to no replay value. shyt is like watching a live sporting event. Its good as it goes but ur in no rush to rewatch it.

People can say all they want about GoT budget and what not but without thier storyline and acting, it wouldnt be shyt regardless how well it was filmed

I respectfully disagree. lol Connect with the characters more? I think the exact opposite especially in the Sopranos case. It was way more character driven.

What? Sopranos had zero character connection. Tony himself was ok and paulie was that dude but everyone else was forgetable especially the whole drug shyt with his nephew and his girl. When Tony got popped at the end i didnt shed no tear. I didnt shed anything for anyone on that show or breaking bad.

GoT has me looking like a bytch since season one though. I dont think i ever tightened up so much for a tv show to a point where my wife is like damn i aint never seen u get all teary over and tv show or movie. That tells u how connected they make their chracters from storyline and acting

See.. this is all opinion though.... Budget makes a difference... and superior acting is highly objective/questionable... when the source material is literature that has already developed the characters in the storyline.... making it easier to direct.......

Visually GOT is going to be better because its a sci fi\fantasy flick with bands behind the CGI and Film Set........ but GOT does not have characters like the Wire or the Sopranos.......

I remember great scenes about Tony, Carmella, Dr. Melfi, Chris, Uncle Junior, Paulie, Silvio Meadow and AJ even Artie Bucco's more than that many GoT characters that I could personally relate/connect to.
You know it's realistic. It's not a fake world with monarchies, magic and dragons and other cultural shyt I don't participate in. It's easier to relate.
Plus you talking about acting James Gandolfini is better than anyone on GoT. Lorraine Bracco to.
