to be honest, I'm glad dunleavy got hurt. I didn't really want him to come back this season at his age. plus I wanted to see snell and mcbuckets get a chance to show and prove anyways.

Dunleavy is one of the better role players in the league. I dont think he gets enough credit. Hes our best 3pt shooter by far, and his spacing is really an invaluable asset on offense. Hes still a serviceable defender and is great at taking charges and disrupting fastbreaks with his length and IQ.

Thats what we need Snell and McDermott to do consistently. I dont know how the minutes will work when MDJ gets back, but he is definitely a better option than Snell and McDermott at the moment.

Dunleavy was great before the injury last season. He's gonna kill in this offense

+ he's showed up in the playoffs for us. Shot 48% from deep the past playoffs and was the only reason we pushed the Wizards series to 5 games. Averaged 11 PPG, 4 rpg, 2.5 apg, and had a 48 fg% and 3pt% on 7 shots a game last playoffs.

He knows his role and plays it well. And for what he provides, his contract is absurdly cheap.

thats cool, but he's 35 years old, and on the decline. plus constantly injured. him playing will only take away from younger players.

chances are, one of those two could end up being better than he is by the end of the season anyways.

After that back surgery though, I kinda hope Dunleavy comes off the bench and Snell continues to start. Him and Dougie can trade minutes as reserves.

I think realistically we have to accept that somebody is going to be a odd man out of the rotation i.e bobby portis status. Now who that is going to be idk

But if snell, mcdermott, moore are producing well consistently, somebody has to lose minutes when dunleavy gets back. Just a reality. Or will hoiberg say the dudes who been producing is who needs to stay on the floor and dunleavy needs to sit? Just something we have to pay attention to.

Can derrick ever play at an elite again? Can noah play like the 2014 DPOTY year that he once waz?
I don't think so, Rose played like a truly fearless athlete, with some real intensity and ferociousness. It was nothing for him to find a lane to TRY and dunk on somebody, and if it didnt work out at the last second, he'd lay it up. He took on Lebron james on a fast break play in the conference finals and tomahawked it right in front of him. Now he settles for floaters around the key and mid range jump shots, I don't think we'll see Derrick playing like his old self anymore. If 2015 Derrick Rose dunked on a 6'10 Joel Anthony type, we'd be surprised, back during the 2011 finals, we figured it would happen.

Noah just needs to get more aggressive. Holding into the ball just to kill clock, is not a good look.

I'd rather hurt dunleavy's feelings. he ain't the future, and won't be around here more than another year I believe anyways.

You shortsighted you want a dude who shot 46-48% from 3's in the playoffs or 38-41% from 3's in the regular season the 2 years he's been here to be benched :what: he the best shooter on the team

Dunleavy is certainly a better shooter than Snell and probably more savvy all around. However, Snell is a better defender and more athletic. As long as Gasol is our starting center, I don't feel comfortable having an average defender on the wing. IMO, Rose, Jimmy, and Snell can all be above-average defenders which is absolutely necessary when teams basically have an open lane to the basket w/ Gasol.

Also, regarding Rose. Sure, he will never be 2011 Rose but fortunately for us, he doesn't need to be. We have 4 players on this team who can put up 20+ppg on any given night. All Rose needs to do is play at a borderline all-star level for us to be contenders. But honestly, I'm more concerned with him staying on the court at this point.
