lets be reality. most players ain't getting to the 25ppg threshold. that's kinda reserved for your superstars of the league. butler is a star, but not a superstar, which is fine. cuz there's only a few superstars in the league to begin with. and when your leading scorer of the league last year put up around 28ppg, asking jimmy to go to 25ppg is asking a lot.

I'm just reacting to this talk that Jimmy is our best offensive player, that he should be taking the last shot, and this hype he's seemed to place around himself regarding his development this offseason

Noah has been all sorts of bad on the offensive end (although he collected some offensive boards)

I seriously think he needs to come into this season with a new mindset. Hes actually moving relatively well, but its just a disaster when he has the ball in his hands, and he hurts spacing. I wish he would come into this season and exclusively focus on his rebounding and help defense. On offense, just set screens, move the ball quickly and attack the boards like crazy.

Thats a way he could give value to this team. I basically want him to play exactly like Rodman did during his stint in Chicago

Fully agree breh. As a center, being so damn awful at the rim is in no way acceptable.

He can't really shoot. He's bricking layups. I haven't seen him do anything productive with the ball in his hands in the post besides dishing it out. Dunk it already. Get a hook shot going. I'm glad he's moving but there's more to it than mobility.

On another note Hoiberg is actually upset with the defense. :leon: Glad to see he's not Pringles 2.0.

I agree, that's why I said from the jump leaders are made on the court, not in interviews. Jimmy is a great player , but this idea of trading rose and handing jimmy the team was always absurd. We need both of these dudes. D rose with his elite ability to get his own shot to disrupt when a team is making a run is sorely missed right now.

Plus I feel like Jimmy is going away from his bread and butter which I believe is slashing, driving, getting fts.hopefully he just testing out his work this offseason (handles, off the dribble jumpshots, passing)

But I think he shoots better when assisted though.
Hopefully everything will come together in the regular season when rose comeback.it's sucks that rose couldn't hit the ground running and now have to go through this conditioning and game shape shyt And being behind on getting experience in the new offense.
Either way I'm excited to see the whole squad..minus noah.I love the man but he's practically useless on the court

jimmy emerging as a star is placing him on coaches scouting reports, leading to coaches placing their toughest defender on jimmy on the wings. the results, last 4 games,

2-10
1-5
2-13
4-10

he is also getting placed in a lot of screens to create space for whoever he guarding

this gets easier for him when he 1. gets rose back to bring some of the wing defending attention away from jimmy, 2. add a rim protector possibly taj to the line up to be on the floor with jimmy to have a big cover jimmy on the drives.

first few games of pre season should be easily forgotten, by game 5 tho, we should see some improvement and it was discouraging to not see that.

Jimmy looks more engaged tonight

Hoiberg already said Doug will come off the bench

At this point we know Rose, Butler, Snell will start 1-3

4 & 5 up in the air

It's what I feared as well. It seems after the 1st game we stopped playing defense. And the thing is the elite defense is what placed us among the elite of the league, we don't have the talent to out talent more talented teams.

We need that defense to emerge. A lot of the other contending teams have already adopted similar offensive systems, it's only looking great to us because we never had it.
