It is that inferiority complex that MMA people have regarding boxing that makes them constantly try to claim boxing is dead and MMA has overtaken boxing as a sport.
UFC stans been declaring boxing dead since Dana White opened his mouth way back in 2010 claiming the sport was finished yet boxing continues to thrive in ways that UFC can only dream of doing.

No shyt clinching is normal in boxing... but its also normal in all combat sports ala MMA or K1 kickboxing. But its getting old where boxing fans defend it and treat it like its special and technical in one sport but garbage in another. That in itself is baseless talking points, exposes who really is a fake ass

As far as examples of Floyd.... I'm not personally saying anything is wrong with it cuz I actually defend the fact that he fights smart for his record and legacy and not necessarily for THE fans (his fans naturally get and support it). But lets not sit here and pretend that when some cats do get close or corner Floyd he dont do that shyt where he kind ducks down into his opponent and "clinches" them or locks their right arm with his left when they try to get a little to aggressive.

I get it, its technical, its tactical, its strategy, but its not something that happens once or twice every few fights... he does that frequently among alot of other shyt. Tying up the opponent slows them up and takes them out their game and keeps him in control of the momentum and action.

Also for your record.... not my opinion and I'm not gonna pull up threads but I recall people claiming the Maidiana fight was somewhat ruined because of the clinching.... granted they may been Pac stans.... but if thats the answer you're looking for then maybe you should take that up with them

to be really honest I was a bit and thought I was making it in The Ring, then figured instead of double posting it a mod would move it anyway.



Sorry but it's true guys. Look at boxing's schedule, look at UFC's schedule. Look at their recent fights, excitement. Fighters actually want to fight. Lawler yesterday, the 3rd sentence after that was went "let's do it again" - you think that would happen in boxing? Lawler would say "I have to talk to my promoter" then would fight the UFC equivalent of Silky Wilky in his next fight.

I think I'm pretty much done following boxing from day to day. The speculation isn't fun anymore, because at least before the speculation led to big fights. The natural progression of the biggest boxing fights to be made took 5 years for Floyd/Manny, and like 2 years for Cotto/Canelo. All because of promotional BS.

How is BJS gonna be offered like 8 million dollars and GGG gets B-side money, and he's still gonna turn it down? Top level boxing isn't a sport anymore, it's just a series of business decisions.
