Now Al Haymon can take his fighters, most of which aren't actually signed to Golden Boy at all, and find another partner to start a promotional company, since he can't legally promote fighters himself. Schaefer WOULD be his first option, but his contract definitely had a non-compete clause in it, which will keep him on the sidelines for a few years, officially anyway. This resignation, plus Floyd leaving Golden Boy are just the first two steps in some plan Al Haymon has in place. Now we just have to wait to find out who the mystery partner is…
