and the battle in the trenches(aka the offensive/defensive lines) is what still decides playoff games/superbowls, yet people never talk about it and never will. they don't mention freeney/mathis being the best strip sackers of all time when talking about peyton and no one has been talking nearly as much about the elite defense the panthers have as they should have this season. the narrative has been the same for the NFL since they've made QBs the focal point and they will continue to ignore everything else.

they can change all the rules they want, they can have the media cover whatever they want, but at the end of the day those battles at the line decides the games. they're the reason giants won two superbowls over the pats and that's the reason the broncos won today. it's also the reason that seahawks team that won the superbowl is so much different than their team this year as it was their defensive line they sacrificed, not their secondary. the numbers still look nice, but they were nowhere near as dominant as they could have been.

This Game was brady vs wade phillips
In theory yes, but this game was Brady versus the front 4. Those fukkers absolutely won 90% of their one on one matchups. Brady was hit 20 times yesterday...twenty!!! That wasn't coming from some elaborate scheme, that was coming on the edge and up the middle from 3-4 guys. shyt, half the time he got hit it wasn't even a fukking stunt, just dudes doing speed and hump moves over and over.

That was the most a quarterback got hit in a game all year statistically. The fact they should have gone to overtime was crazy to me after seeing that.

Yep. And honestly if Ward and Stewart don't go down and the Broncos don't give them great field position with the lateral they probably don't even get to 10

I think :beli: even went to Wade after the game and told him he called a helluva game.

I dislike Manning? :dahell:

I'm not giving him credit for the beating the Broncos defense put on Brady. He didn't outplay Brady. Man please. This qb vs qb thing is corny as fukk

He did outplay brady though brady turned it over manning didn't and threw for more tds

Brady played a more formidable Philips defense. Manning wasn't special and didn't outplay him. He was Jamie Collins lunch

I think one thing fans can agree on is no matter how great/elite your QB is, it only takes 1 game with a defense in the right scheme to ruin everything.

Shout out to 2004 peyton manning, 2007 tom brady, 2010 Tom Brady, 2011 Aaron rodgers & 2013 peyton manning

What's your evidence that brady would struggle against a BB defense? Especially when In the playoffs(when it matters most)

Watching Brady struggle against a Wade Philips defense and Beli being a better defensive mind than Wade.

If guys like Mark Sanchez, Eli manning, Joe flacco, and jake delhomme can light up a belichick defense in the playoffs I don't understand why Brady couldn't.

And Brady torched a Wade Phillips defense 3 years ago in the 2012 divisional round
