There are millions of black Americans in this country, which means there are thousands upon thousands of police interactions with black each year.
There are millions of white people in this country and the same thing goes for them.
And as we know, black people are undeniably disproportionately killed by police.
But here are the facts, these are the numbers:
"Almost 1,200 people, mostly minorities, killed by US cops in 2015. US law enforcement officers killed up to 1,199 people last year, the majority of whom were 'people of color'. According to the open-source reporting project Killed by Police, 574of those who died were minorities, 511 were white, and 107 undetermined."
This is not a fukking genocide, this is not cops going door to door and slaughtering each Tamir Rice they see, this is less black people than live in my city killed among (according to the 2009 census) 38,093,725 black Americans, if you think that's a genocide not only are you wrong, but you're dangerously paranoid and should probably go seek professional help.
And that also means, thousands upon thousands of innocent black Americans and criminals, aren't shot by the police each year, so as you said, every time someone comes up and says "b-but white people with guns arent killed" it's a irritating meme argument as you can find the same with black people and vice versa.
According to thecoli, I should be ready to buck up and go slaughtering police; and don't get me wrong, I fully acknowledge how corrupt and broken the police and judicial system is in the US and the millions of minority lives it's ruined up to this day.
But every day I go out there's no reason for me to fear being shot by police, i'm more afraid of a statistically unlikely home invasion than that, and my personal experiences with police whether that's me and other black friends/my sister being caught on a school roof and being let go by a white cop, calling the police when a black friends stepdad was assaulting him, being called to our home during conflict, arresting people related to me, etc etc I haven't been mistreated by them (though I don't believe that means they're in theory there to help me and people should always be wary of their interactions with police and record if possible) once, yet people here tell me if you're black and call the police you 're just going to be assaulted or killed or mistreated or something no matter what.
And a lot the cops in my hometown had a good relationship with all the black and Hispanic youth, even those who were in an out of juvie/probation, and the campus cops helped a lot of people and did cool things with us, and the cops who did DARE back in elementary school had good relationships with us as we went through our school years, and so on so forth.
Hell even the people I know personally who were in and out of jail or were mistreated by the police aren't taking coli stances on them.
Me getting up and pretending to be Michael Xavier Johnson crying for war would be totally dishonest with my actual experiences, nor is anyone crying for that on this site actually ready for it (like you said).
Edit:These posters don't want to give an honest/logical look at the situation, they just look at the world through black and white lenses because doing so creates a victim complex which they can use to strengthen their extremism and ad moral justification to their cause as well as shame others for not being on board because they see at as the epitome of a life or death(extermination) situation.
It's pure tribalism.
