For Tennnis...you generally have to be taught the mechanics of the game from a young age so tthey get the opportunity to really craft their skills....this propapbly aint the case with basketball

It's becusse there's no visible standard to compare women and men's tennis. The average person cannot tell the difference between a tennis serve going 105 mph vs 120 mph. But you can damn sure tell the difference between an NBA player dunking on a 10 foot rim vs an WNBA player dunking on a 10 foot rim

I don't think the standard of women's tennis is all that high. They always have 15 year old players who come onto the scene and go deep in the tournament at grand slams. That would almost never happen in the men's tournament, there's no way a 15 year old boy could compete with grown men unless he was a once in a lifetime talent and went on to become the GOAT of the sport
