And you clearly don't understand how the wrestling business, capitalism, or "entitlement" works
They don't watch, breh.
Entitlement is thinking you deserve something for nothing, the WWE would not exist without the fans who've been paying customers for years. They invested their time and money.
If McDonalds starts selling a Mcshyt burger, and people who eat there go "Wow this is a really shytty sandwich, can you go back to selling us hamburgers" you'd say they're being entitled and should eat at burger king.
This is a terrible terrible analogy.
equating the product to a "shyt burger" would be in essence saying that they are intentionally trying to sabotage their own product (in the same way that McDonalds would understand that a "shyt burger" is not an attempt at creating an actual enticing food option). The problem with your analogy is that...some people enjoy the product...you don't (which is fine
). You are acting like they have empty arenas, no fans, no merch sales, no TV deals, and they are actually going under. That isn't the case. If you want to argue with me that the arenas are emptier than they were in the past...ok that's fair. But the WWE is a touring company that puts on 4 televised shows per week and several non-televised, and still manages to operate. So shyt burger to you... edible burger to the millions of people who continue to follow and financially support the product.
now,
entitled: believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
Fans saying "I don't like it...I don't like Roman...put Finn as the top guy" is entitlement. That fan (in that hypothetical) is specifying that he wants something different from a company that he neither: A - owns, B - is being forced to support. That person has an
entitled perspective. Many of the fans of today - collectively - fit that mold. They think "I don't like Roman". Ok... well there are other people (kids women and some men) who think "I do like Roman". Yet, it's the neckbeards who feel that "Roman doesn't deserve it" who feel that their perspective should be valued higher than those of the other audience members who have different and conflicting opinions. That, my friend, is entitlement.
And you are equating losing fandom and ratings with capitalism when the WWE continues to set record profits
they just signed two huge TV contracts
They don't care about the neckbeards who cry about Roman because merch still sells
Some of you guys live in some fantasy world where "I know better than the execs of WWE" when they are the ones making money and you are the ones giving them your money/time/and attention. They aren't tuning into your coli posts for advice on how to run their multi billion dollar company
