It's crazy how closely Kendrick & Drake is mirroring Jay-Z & Nas

I really hate this comparison, Kendricks music is nothing like Nas' shyt and nowhere near as militant or pro black.. Nas' music was way more powerful

His music is No where near as classic either. Remember, Nas made his classic Illmatic at a time where almost everybody had to have rhyme skills to get a deal. Now, rarely do you find a new mc with skills so so-called classics of today aren't compared to much. There is a shortage of TALENT

loc, Kenny got some shytty lyrics... but none as shytty as "Nacho cheese I'm Castro" or "I unfold the scroll" or a multitude of other shytty ass bars from naS. Illmatic was the blueprint to the industry plant shyt.

nikka Ye's albums were going 3-4-5 times platinum and he was dropping #1 singles, he was all over the damn place. Everything he touched was a hit. To say Kendrick is even close to that level is an insult.
He was 3 times platinum and 2 times platinum while other artists like Em, 50, Mariah, some rock groups, pop groups etc were doing 5-6 million or Usher 9 million.
To compare over time we need a relative scale, anyone with half a brain can comprehend that. Since today millions of people play Kendricks shyt on various streaming services and illegal downloads. How do you think Wiz Khalifa can make 10M in a year if his album is doing Yung Gunz #s.

Nah. Decent comparison but it's more

Jay cole is nas
How? Kendrick and Nas both dropped classic debuts, they are more comparable skill wise than Cole. In terms of subject matter they are more comparable.

Cole in no ways stacks up to Nas, just because he's a stan doesn't mean he's Nas.

This thread is very on point I've said this many times.

Nas got conscious in the God's Son era and from that point forward evolved into the pro black militant shyt. I know he was doing gangsta shyt on Stillmatic.

Who was considered better than Nas at that time? It was exactly what it is now with Kendrick and Drake. Nas was better but Jay was more popular. That's how damn near everyone saw it.

I aint gon even lie I mustve skimmed your original post like a mafuka:snoop:...After I actually read it I agree almost 100%:dead:...But you don't think Nas kinda fell into the background with all the commercial rap that we had at the time?the window I think was short after Ether where I think you could say Nas was definitely at the forefront.

Heres another parallel I'll add though,I think Nas had his chance to take the game completely right after Ether dropped when he was on his cocky shyt dissing everybody:russ:...but then he apologized for his actions and kinda fell back.

I think Kendrick had his chance after Control when everybody was going crazy, and he too kinda fell back failing to instead of work the hype train.

Dap because I been saying this for a minute. The comparison is undeniable.

It's always someone that lets the whole point fly over they head tho, like this:
this thread is wack sauce, Drake is no where close to Jigga man & Kendrick gotta drop that alien voice before I mention him with the GOATs.

These parallels these c00ns try to force dont make no fukkin sense...

So, nikkaz swear up and down that Biggie was the rapper and Pac was the superstar... naS was the rapper and Jay is the superstar... Duckworth is the rapper and Drake is the superstar...

but nikkaz swear up and down that Jay is a Biggie clone... and we all know naS tries his damnedest to be Pac... Drake is clearly better at rappin than Duckworth.

So which is it c00ns, is Jay a Biggie clone and thus "the rapper" and is naS the Pac clone and thus not "the rapper"?
Dumb ass stans avoidin this takeover like the plague :umad:

This is laughable, Kendrick's pro-black and conscious songs shyt all over Cole's...
I never forgot Kendrick saying this tho:
"when we don’t have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us?"

As if we all dont respect ourselves. Lowkey it also gives racist whites a pass.

Also with him giving Iggy Azelea a pass. Saying "God wants" here to "do her thing,"
