EPMD are acknowledged by real hip hop heads and that's all that matters. The same way someone like me as a 90's teen was unfamiliar with 70's groups like Slave and Tower Of Power, I don't expect the newer generation to be up on a group like EPMD. It would be on the individual from the now generation to do their homework if they really are interested in the cultures history and if they do that they will eventually come across a group like EPMD and acknowledge.

That’s not acceptable to me. The average casual self proclaimed hip hop fan should know at least 20-25 groups from the 80’s.

:whoa:

No one said all that … but at least Gangstar is remembered more.
This is why I made previous post. I want to be spoonfed some gems instead of doing the work myself.😂 I appreciate Eric more without Parrish. So I don’t revisit the group very often, except for singles.
EPMD legends and are dope.

I never got into them outside of the singles.

I may run through their catalog this weekend.

in what world is EPMD underrated?

many people of a generation acknowledge them and cite them as the best duo

4 straight gold/plat albums in the early 90s was no easy tast

Just neither were technically great rappers and ES was better as a producer for others

Leaving out
Tribe
UGK
Migos
36
Bone
Da La
Lox
Run DMC
Dipset

All these artists got fans that would swear they are top 5 ever

I got go own I’m just pointing out it’s annoying sometimes when talk start throwing around too 5 so easily

So many layers to hip hop now I think it’s fair to say Top 5 for that time period

I'll battle any of yall in a versus, Gangstar > EPMD.

FIGHT ME!

You would lose.

All you have that is completely striking is soliloquay of chaos.

You would never match my first epmd record.
or any post after that.
Plus in timeline

you have no match as well.

You talking some revisionist shyt that never occurred.

*my neighbor was gangster's a&r.
that aided them to go platinum.

So I know you would lose easy.
