That wouldn’t be surprising considering all the chances that Verdugo and Rizzo got lol, on a related point Kay basically said Boone’s the Yankees manager for now and the future because Judge loves him on the Hot Stove show.

shyt, just saw Kim signed with Tampa Bay.

Poor front office leadership. On a side note, why do so many Yankee fans think Kim was a great player this team needed when he has a career average under .245, an OBP under .330, and slugs under .385 too? He’s basically IKF with a worse batting average but a bit more power, more speed, and better glove. Not fit to be higher than 8th or 9th in a major league lineup. He’s got one season with even a .710 ops and the league average last year was maybe .719 across all 30 teams. He’s hit .233 last year too.

to add: Kim insisted on playing SS which wasn't happening here.

He’s apparently coming off shoulder surgery too. Hard pass. He’d be an 8-9 hitter in a lineup with 3-4 guys who shouldn’t hit higher than that anyway (Dominguez is on the list since he’s unproven). They need table setter type hitters.

I honestly just want anyone other than DJ lol but him getting a chance at 3B seems inevitable at this point.

I'm gonna say that the Yankees should think about trading Luis Gil.

People think I'm crazy but I'm not sure he's all that much better than Clarke Schmidt.

I think you could trade Gil and maybe steal some quality minor league prospects and maybe 1 veteran position player right now.

I just want this on the record because I think I am right about this guy and this is the receipt. Lol.

So Cashman even tried to shyt on Bernie Williams in contract negotiations??

:gucci:

This scumbag motherfukker has been a cancer GM for 25 years

Cancer GM for 27-28 years. This was after 1998 where Bernie’s contract expired, which means this was in his very first offseason as general manager. They nearly lost Bernie to Boston. Same shyt that happened with Judge. Had to personally call Steinbrenner to cut out the agent and more importantly the general manager :stopitslime:. This fukking clown is Denver era Josh McDaniels. Shows up and immediately starts beefing with all his star players.

To be fair boras is just the worst too.

you have both of them though.

Why trade Gil for more prospects you'll be less inclined to use?

The Padres have already announced they're open to moving King and Cease.

Either one of them would be better than Gil.
And if they Padres are willing to move those guys, why not Tatis?

Gil and prospects for Tatis is a move I would be all over. And I would do it before the shine on Gil wears off.

Even if the Padres were in a situation where they wanted to purge the roster (which I don't think they're gonna do because they think they're good enough to compete), King and Cease are rentals who will go to the highest bidder next winter. I'm not opposed to signing them, but the Yankees will counter by telling you they paid Cole, Fried and Rodon ridiculous amounts of money. If the Yankees are this incapable of developing and maintaining young controllable players, let alone pitchers, they're not winning anyway, but you're funneling so much money into something that really isn't their problem.

As for Tatis, I like Tatis. I'm not trading Dominguez for him and that's where the conversation will start with them and rightfully so. There's only maybe 4-5 players I'd give up Dominguez for at this point and Tatis ain't one of them (on top of that, where's he playing?). I get it. The Padres 2-3 years ago built a team we would have loved, but if the Yankees feel like cutting corners, the best way to do it is by developing players on the cheap since clearly the Yankees aren't gonna have a $370 mil payroll of their own, which a trade like this would do.

I really need to research Dominguez more deeply because I'm not sure that I see the ceiling that you guys are seeing.
