I don't recall ever saying this.
I'm asking why his team mediocre with a much superior roster, and much better after he left, since ya making him out to be this one-man difference maker
Okay, I get all of this. I'm not minimizing his impact. But all of this led us to basically the 2022 team, only this time we lucked into playing the AL central.
His defensive blunder gave the Dodgers two runs in Gm 1.
This "Soto or we riot" that y'all on is a bad, bad, bad take
Because that's a better team than the one we have now. Now that he's gone, your alternatives
a) suck
and b) might not be good enough to drag the captain through the postseason.
so now that he's gone, what are they gonna change? Nothing. I may have said this earlier, but if losing Soto and hopefully punting 2025 leads to everyone losing their jobs, that's the only thing that can salvage the mess they have, but what they have now is messy.
Losing Soto woulda sucked no matter what, but had we won the World Series, it wouldn't sting as much. If Judge wouldn't keep disappearing in the playoffs, this wouldn't sting as much. If Judge was younger, this wouldn't hurt as much. If we felt the Yankees had a plan with the youngins who don't vote red down ballot, I might be more optimistic. I mean damn we didn't sign Yamamoto last year, and look, that hurt a lil, but the pivot was giving Stroman a 2 year deal. Cole getting hurt low key saved the rotation. SD ain't bytching too much cuz they still got their main core guys and in the Soto trade got King AND Cease and an open spot for Merrill. What's in it for us? A bum ass polar bear?
