Parents come on in :blessed:

This was inspired by the "Quick lil gems...." thread. I just figured our coli community could really help each other in parenting.

I'll start it off with a couple little things:

2 children (7 and 4)

Im almost embarrassed to say this but my household just started eating dinner at the table together about a year ago. This has worked really well in helping our family communication. TV off or muted. Before, we just got plates and ate wherever we were.

Story telling before bed. Simple little thing. It can be a nuisance when you are really tired but making up stories and having them add to them really works.

My youngest daughter has eczema. The cetaphil cream with the green top works the best so far.

Get their clothes out and ironed at night. Makes the mornings 100 times easier
My daughters are in gymnastics and they swim. I dont allow for the uniforms/swimsuits with their bottoms hanging out. I only use these kind. No matter what these teams say, they are allowed to use these.

Great thread. Having children involves more than just feeding and providing shelter for them, I hate when parents say that it's their only responsibility. Me and my ten year old daughter have a great relationship. We still play fight and tickle each other all the time, because if you don't give them the attention they need, they'll find it somewhere else

I have eczema, which no one ever really explained to me just means my skin is sensitive to scented lotions, and get drier faster. I started using my kids Aveeno and all my problems went away.
:blessed:

The one with light blue cap is the baby section is the best and its the cheaper than the ones in the adult section. In the winter time I go with the cream with the dark blue cap.

Thats dope breh, my daughter's usually goes away in the winter but is really bad in the summer. The inner elbow and behind the knee really flare up. Also the little pit between the thumb and index finger. Good to know there's another option though.

Brooklyn!!!!!
2 boys (10 and 3)

Cetaphil never worked for us. Honestly the dollar tree Dermasil Lotion, is literally the best lotion weā€™ve ever used in life.

Iā€™ve spent bread on Cetaphil, eucerin, dove, cerave, curacel, Nivea everything thatā€™s $13+. But this little dollar lotion has worked wonders:wow:

We always eat dinner together.

Donā€™t just accept ā€œGoodā€ as an answer, when you ask your child how thier day was.
Everyday after school, I have my oldest tell me about his day. Literally from breakfast time to dismissal. I want to know what he ate, who he sits with, what they talked about, who got into a fight.

Currently teaching him how to cook. Iā€™ll be damned if heā€™s one of these grown ass adults out here that only know how to boil water.

PUT YOUR KIDS IN SWIM CLASSES!!!!!

Swimming is literally one of the most basic life skills that EVERYONE should have. Iā€™m the only person in my group of friends that knows how to swim:francis:

He has to read every day for 30min. After heā€™s done his homework and before he even looks at his PlayStation. He has to read. Itā€™s an hour on weekends.

My 3yr old currently just does what he wants. Youā€™re only a baby/toddler for a short period of time. I let him live his best toddler life for right now. But he knows his letters, numbers, animals and words.

We donā€™t even have a TV at hone
Anything my children want to watch they put in a request and either watch it on the Laptop or I have a home movie projector and fire it up

It means in the morning when they wake up they find something creative to do, they are always singing or drawing, using their imagination
