Jokic had the best season. Carried his squad without the #2 and #3 guys the entire year, and put up crazy numbers doing it.
So Jokic was putting up crazy numbers on a bad team. How many times has that happened in NBA history and that player gets denied MVP? All of a sudden, special reservations for Jokic. :mjlol:

Another MVP for The Crippler — hopefully this can serve as an inspiration to little fat boys and girls. It’s important they take inspiration from his hard work and dedication not his two thug brothers and the assault he got away with.

Regardless of who you think deserves the award, the NBA MVP being determined by the media is probably one of the most obtuse decisions the sport has made.

Again, like KD said in that Draymond interview: the media knows jack shyt about the game compared to himself and every single other NBA player.

Scalabrine said the same thing: there is so much microprocessing going on the game that the average person has zero idea about it.

It'd be so much more interesting and definitive if the players vote for it because they're the ones who have seen firsthand what player x does - not just on the court, but analyzed to high detail by the coaches during film sessions.

shyt, coaches and coaching staffs would be a better medium.
Lol have you seen the players votes for all stars? They’re hella biased and even worse than the media votes. There isn’t going to be a perfect system but the media gets it right way more than players would . With that said players and coaches probably should have some input

I can think of several. These 2 come to mind. Jordan in 1987 averaged 37ppg to go with 200+ steals and 100+ blocks on one of the top 5-7 worst rosters in NBA history. The 2nd best scorer/player on that team was a defensive enforcer named Charles Oakley.

Without him that team won't have won 15 games.

Kobe in 2006 averaged 35 and took a Lakers team lacking any serious talent to the playoffs. He was the best player that year and deserved it.

Both those teams were worse than Jokic's team this year

Back to back MVP with (soon to be) back to back 1st Rd exits. Disgusting

Edit: scratch that. 2nd Rd and now 1st Rd exit. So 'scust instead
You seen who he has to play with? It's a cotdamn miracle he gets them into a playoff position in the first place.

How many players in the NBA could win 50 games with:

Aaron Gordon
Monte Morris
Will Barton
Jeff Green
Austin Rivers
JaMychal Green
Bones Hyland
Facundo Campazzo.
