The boat scene was interesting me to me, I got the implications right away….Though at first I was like 'maybe to get away from the demon', then it got a lot darker in my mind, and I was thinking 'Is this girl going to pass this off to these dudes'? And I didn't want her to do that, for the same reasons I wouldn't want it, in an adolescent movie without the horror, the loss of innocence, the misplaced emotions, and subsequent degradation.

Then the movie skipped that part, and I wondered why. Not a flaw or an issue, I just wasn't sure exactly how that ended, in a practical way though I understood why the scene was there. I think that scene was speaking to the loss of feeling and kind of hedonistic aspect of sex, esp. as a kid, how so many fall into that cycle of predatory sexual relationships, and the physical aspects of the act themselves, forgetting about consideration and intimacy, only chasing feelings of lust, control, and what you can get take from the other person.

Yup lol you said everything i was thinking. which is why I'm hesitant to call her a "slut" because for me, the entire movie had a perspective on sex specifically between young kids

She definitely fukked them dudes....look at her cast before, and after that scene. They focus on it a second and it's dirtier and fukked up, and she was crying. Just like ol boy that had a crush on her obviously fukked a hooker, it's why he was scoping them out.

I liked the movie a lot. It wasn't perfect but it was a new idea and they executed it with a relatively small budget. My favorite part was when there's a knock on the door and girl is like "it's just me" and the tall ass dude steps into the room with her.

@FlyRy the movie is basically a nightmare so the 3rd act is them trying some random shyt that has zero chance of working because they're hopeless, just like you would in a dream. The pool shyt was supposed to be a :comeon:moment according to the director. And given the ending, it obviously didn't work. Also any "rules" you hear from the characters aren't necessarily accurate, it's just them trying to figure out what's going on.

I seen it Monday and there was like 7 people in the theater. :mjlol:I looked around at various parts of the movie and the theater was :patrice:or :francis:

I think time frame was purposely vague, in kind of an every town USA type of environment…..The movie also seemed to want to have something to say about social inequality and gentrification in disenfranchised neighborhoods, but didn't quite make a point, so much as raise the issue briefly. Back to the time frame, one mind complaint, though I understood in what I believe the context was, is the constant use of HOUSE phones…Hardly anyone I know has one, much less uses it. Esp. teenagers. So, I thought that spoke to my belief, also to convey a sense of below middle class poverty, and dysfunction.

From what I remember the director said the year is intentionally vague. One girl had an eReader but the house phones were old school 90's touch button....all the TVs were black and white....and none were flat screen. They were the bigger body 80's joints. Also the soundtrack was obviously 80's inspired.

That part had me :what: because ol boy knew something was supposed to be after him....even if he didn't believe it why open the door like :krs: when you hear someone trying to beat the shyt down.

If it was me in the movie I'd max out my credit card fukking every active porn actress. That monster better learn how to teleport. :umad:
