But the question is how scared can you truly be of a movie the older you get and the more desensitized you become
All the more reason to come up with something fresh

Wait wait..... pause, time out...... I thought that was the purpose of a horror movie
Scare doesn't always mean that it makes you jump. It can also make you reflect on certain aspects of culture. I haven't seen the movie yet, but from the trailers and marketing, it's quite obvious what the movie is saying.
Best horror I've seen since Kill List. Undoubtedly.I'm hesitant to say. I don't want to be like, "This is what the film means." The only thing I am comfortable saying about it is that, on some level, one of the things important to me is the discussion of mortality. That's probably another fairly obvious one in that we're all mortal, we're all here for a limited amount of time, it's something that we all are aware of. In the film, it's not necessarily sex that opens this character up to danger. Sex is just one aspect of living. So it's literally just life itself, the act of living, is what creates a necessity for us to die. It's literally about the moment at which you are becoming aware of your mortality and some of that has to do with growing up, and sex is part of that. The characters open themselves up to this danger through sex, but I like to think that sex and love are ways we can push death away, at least temporarily. That's sort of what happens in the film in a very literal way, but in the grander scheme of things, it's one of the ways in which we can really be alive and not be so focused on what happens to us. In that moment, we can be truly alive.
One thing I do agree with tho, the soundtrack was piff
kinda loved the main girl, really good atmosphere... that's it. 2.5/5 movie. gimmie a fukkin break with this hype

It had more purpose than that. There was Oedipus undertones to it and the fact he may have been exposed to his moms sordid behavior in the past, perhaps in his childhood. From the dialogue between him and others, there was definitely some sort of conflict him and his moms. The whole mother/son/it scene is some demonic perverted cac shyt I can't get into:yeah ok:...served no purpose other than to be some perverted shyt cacs always dream up and put in movies:yeah ok::
Yeah I think you missed the whole point of the film. Also as far as plot goes there were so many holes that there really wasn't one...now i have low expectations for horror movies cause they are you know...suppose to scare you and make you feel uncomfortable...but this had shyt in it like characters giving other characters advice on what to do while being in the same situation and doing the exact opposite of the advice they gave the other character :yeah ok:
