It's a shame that Fukunaga wasn't able to do the source material the justice it deserved; it's like the director/writers took whatever magic they did have from the first chapter, and went in the opposite direction for this. It's not even worth breaking down the bad of this film, because that's quite literally all it is.

Holy fukk this felt like rushed crash grab trash.

I knew the two year turnaround was a red flag.

The film felt like it was written on one draft and it needed a few rewrites in all 3 acts. Forcing an hour of flashblacks of the kid actors was a horrendous movie. It never let the adult timeline get into a consistent groove.

Just soooo bad. Film doesn't feel like it starts till 45 minutes left in it.
